William Henderson plans to boo Brett Favre
From multiple sources, including the Green Bay Press-Gazette and ESPN, among others.
One of Favre’s former teammates on the Packers’ Super Bowl championship team in 1996, William Henderson, will be leading the chorus of boo-birds.
Now, on one hand, you can certainly understand that William Henderson, being a career Packer, has an intense loyalty to the team, and wants to display said loyalty along with many others at Lambeau Field by booing the man that was once considered a deity in Wisconsin.
On the other hand, if we're going to be talking about players booing because a Packer turned free agent signed with the hated rival Minnesota Vikings, William Henderson isn't exactly a great source of credibility.
Isn't this the same William Henderson who, in 2006, came over to Minnesota to sign a contract with the Vikings?
Oh wait, I do believe it is. So let me get this straight, William Henderson... You, someone who spent his entire career with the Vikings, decided that in 2006 you would go to the Vikings and negotiate a contract (Which, of course, did not come to fruition as he's still a Packer)... And now you're basically going to boo someone else for doing the exact same thing?
I guess nobody ever accused Henderson of being smart... Or having a long term memory, for that matter.

Well, he is a Packer
So like the rest of their fans you can’t expect him to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. I think their fans forget that they made this all possible by trading him and hiring Ari Fleischer to make sure he looked like the ass in the deal.
I agree
However annoying they may sometimes be in how they do it, it’s one thing for fans to do that kind of stuff. The team is theirs, not the players’ The players are professionals, hired to fit a role. The should have some respect for fellow professionals, who are doing nothing that they would not do too. He may not be a player anymore, but he is still more than a mere fan.
I can’t help but feel that WH is even being more selfish than BF is accused of being. Being a member of a superbowl winning team is a meal ticket in appearance fees, and he’s doing what he thinks he needs to do to protect his.
In that context … my already great respect for Donald Driver is through the roof. He is very conspicuously refusing to play the two-faced game that Henderson is.
I don’t think very many packers fans are thinking very rationally rigth now. This video from NFL.com was very interesting.

That's a good video
You should post that as a fanshot.

What a great video
Thanks for sharing. Made my day! Why can’t Fox or ESPN attain this level of quality???
TiggerSr
Because
They would rather get made up stories or make up rumors to boost ratings so they can turn around and charge advertisers a higher rate. Sounds conspiracy theory, but sadly, alot of that is true. Working in TV, see it alot locally.
"That is the craziest sonofabitch I ever saw, how many more like him do you think are up there?"
Maybe because the NFL naturally reserves it's best for itself?
And ESPN seems to feel it’s more worthwhile to show Women’s Amateur Volleyball games rather than NFL football on Sunday afternoons.
Fox just does the local NFL team plus whatever the broad spectrum happens to be.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!
Zing.
Wow.
