Favre's never been 5-0!
WHAT????!!!!
After the game tonight, they had post game coverage of Favre, talking generally about how he loves being here, it was all about winning and becoming 4 and 0, and blah, blah, blah... I loved every second of it of course, but it was interesting watching Favre answer questions carefully so they wouldn't be scewed in the paper. Pretty much anything Favre could say that was remotely close to being negative or taking the wrong way was published at the bottom of the screen. One was "Favre: I was the most nervous I've ever been before game" and Another delt with how packer fans felt. It was all kinda rubish...
Then a state showed up on the bottom of the screen. Favre has never started a season 5-0! I couldn't believe it! So, knock on wood because anything can happen, but we go to St. Louis to face the 0-4 Rams and we're currently 4-0. Odds are... Us winning... comfortably. So this could potentially mark Favres first 5-0 start!
Lets pray this is a fast start to a beautiful ending :)

Losing to the Rams
would really suck. It’d would mean we might end up one of the 14% of teams that start 4-0 and don’t make the playoffs.

God forbid...
But even if it did, the season is only 25% done. Still lots of football left to be played. To get back to .500, the Vikings would have to lose the next 25% of the season. They’re doing fine.

Uhh
Technically, even if we beat the Rams, we could still end up one of the 14% of teams that don’t make the playoffs.

How 'bout 6-0?
Well, we started 6-0 a few years ago, as a recall, with a GREAT team, and missed the playoffs :(

Scary Game
All the games that we should blow out the other team, have been, traditionally, the games where the Vikings are most likely to blow it. Overconfidence, not mentally prepared, playing down to the other team, however you want to explain it… we’ve done it in the past. That’s why the Detroit games were the scariest games of the season.
Today’s NFL has an amazing degree of parity, the difference between the SF 49ers, the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Bears, and the Rams, isn’t really that big a difference other than the ‘superstar’ players, every player in the NFL is still an NFL-caliber professional football player. We shouldn’t take St. Louis for granted.
Ah, ah,

From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

Agree
I have already found myself thinking ahead of Sunday’s game….Hope the Vikings don’t! Agree with your statements above…
Somehow though this team thing is becoming bigger than any one game I think….They believe they can, and they are showing they can…So I am not at all worried abour Sunday…
More of concern to me…If we can only get Chilly to get to a “knock ’em out” mentality versus “controlling for the win” at the end (unless we are forced to use knock out blows to win)…
There will be tests where we have to pour in on to the end….no prevent defense…knock down drag out hits as we had last night…What a game!
SKOL!
I would rather be IN the Arena than watching from the stands...That is my life!

He did go for that long throw when the conventional wisdom was to run it to keep the clock moving.

True enough
But at that point, it seemed to me that the particular series would have been better served as an exercise in a power-running game. Hate to be trying to second-guess a series strategy, but that’s the only series where they really seemed off track.

I'm not worried about beating the Rams
I don’t see this team getting ahead of themselves right now. I’ll worry more about Baltimore, Pitt., and @Green Bay. I expect to get to 7-1 or 6-2 after GB, but recognize 5-3 is a realistic possibility. Thankfully Pittsburgh hasn’t played as well as last year, but Baltimore has been look really good and GB should have at least one starter back on the OL in addition to playing at home next time.

His name is Chad Clifton
That’s the only one they were missing for last nihgt’s game.
Although it is possible (increasingly likely?) tht they resign Mark Tauscher; he’s still available, and they are desperate.

This just in: Packers have announced that they are trying out Mark Tauscher
Gee, I wonder why?;)

one at a time boys
The Rams don’t look that good but this the NFL. A punt runback for a TD. A fumble here or an interception there. An insprired Defense especially at home, don’t take anything for granted. We are the better team but we have to play that way to win. The whipping that they just took by 49ers could be a trend for this team or it could rally them to prove that they are not that bad.

That stat means that Favre has never had such a cream-puff schedule in his life.
