Favre Gets Rewarded After Big Night
First of all, I thought this video was worth posting. Postgame interviews are usually a borefest -- "we're taking things one game at a time, both teams played hard, blah blah blah." But this was clearly a special moment for Brett Favre, and you could hear him getting emotional. It was a nice interview following an excellent game.
More importantly, he took home some hardware after a Monday Night Football game that set the record for the largest cable audience ever. Favre was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for a performance in which he went 24/31 for 271 yards and three touchdowns. But in case you were hoping that the Vikings would sweep the offensive and defensive awards, you'll be disappointed to learn that Darren Sharper took home the defensive honors. The Mullet got screwed -- 4.5 sacks and total dominance just weren't quite good enough, huh?
On a completely different note, how about a shout-out to the Twins for capping off an incredible two-day stretch of Minnesota sports? Here's hoping they have some magic left over for the playoffs and can put ESPN and the rest of the sports media in the fetal position by knocking off the Yankees. Twinkie Town, of course, has you covered.

two-day stretch?
for me at least this goes back to the must-win game in Detroit on Thursday. Six straight days of huge games for MN sports…I sure could use a break.

Well...
Minus the Goofers getting beat by the Badgers, of course.

True
Still, I’m hoping the U has a bright future. Why is it that when I see TCF now that it’s open, I start drooling and dreaming of the Vikings having that open air home field advantage of frostbite if your team dont come prepared? hehehehe

He sounded hoarse from hollerin at the line
At the end there is a link to other ESPN videos. Jim Rome has been trashing Favre for years. He says he eats crow in the linked video. It would have to be the size of a pterodactyl.

Defensive Player of the Week
Sharper made a nice run back (didn’t see the whole game) but it is hard to imagine anyone having more of an impact than Jared Allen, PLEEAZE…4.5 sacks PLUS a safety and a forced fumble. Poor Rams. Next!!!!!

Sorry, but “Brett Favre emotional moments” don’t do a thing for me anymore.

My god...
After the last couple of days my head nearly exploded. A whole lotta fun! Also, no more beer for me for the rest of the week….oh shit, the Twins play at 5pm today…screw that, I’ll just switch to rum : )

I hear you there....
I have no voice after this past weekend – first the goofers game, then the huge Vikes game, then the Twins last night – good lord, don’t know how much more I can take ;-)

It’s hard to say Allen got screwed. Sharper’s play was a huge reason why the Saints won, despite a sub-par offensive day.
Allen was beastly, but any of us might have snuck a sack on that crappy O-Line.

No, it is not hard to say.
Allen got screwed, but once the team moves to LA, such things won’t happen, because there are seven times as many people living out here in Jared’s home state than there are in all of Minnesota.
Does anyone really believe if a New York Giant had 4.5 sacks on MNF the world would not be stopped for an all-week highlights rerun?
Once the Vikings move, Sharper will be swept away by a flood that will make the one in New Orleans look line a dinky puddle. Sharper??? Who dat?

I know you’re being facetious, but please STFU about the Vikings moving.
Saying what you said in the middle of this conversation is like finding out you have been given 10 million dollars, but you need to do a gay bukkake video on the internet once a month.

Hard to say...
You have a reason for sudden doom and gloom, or are you just cranky today?
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

You Know Jared Allen is a Crazy Man
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this guy. He plays football like I drink beer, fast and with no thoughts about consequences.

I'm OK with Sharper winning Defensive POTW
Because it was obviously “Revenge of Players the Packers Thought were Washed Up” Week. It makes me tingle with schadenfreude to know that the Packers are 2-2 while Favre, Longwell and Sharper are a combined 8-0.

I'm gonna say it
WHY DIDNT WE RESIGN D-SHARP??? Sorry but Williams and Johnson are not proving themselves to be his replacement.
"We Szekelys have a right to be proud, for in our veins flows the blood of many brave races who fought as the lion fights for lordship. Here, in the whirlpool of European races, the Ugric tribe bore down from Iceland the fighting spirit which Thor and Odin gave them, which their Berserkers displayed to such fell intent on the seaboards of Europe, ay, and of Asia and Africa too, till the peoples thought that the werewolves themselves had come."
