Interesting article about Tim Tebow
The good, the bad and the great potential!
I really found this to be a good read and I feel much better about him being our potential pick in 2010.
It could be the most interesting backfield in football.
Think about it, Tebow, Harvin and of course AD!
This doe's however conflict with my thinking that we should be looking for O-line and DB's first.
Anyway heres the link

I believe that Tebow would be the 2nd coming.........
of the Greatest QB in the History of the NFL!
Hell yes! The Vikings pick 32 in the 2010 NFL draft.
Tebow sits behind Favre and watches Favre win three straight Super Bowls.
Bevell could mold Tebow for 2 years!
No Brainer, you must pick Tebow at 32!!!!!!!
In my earlier post with the mock draft
Tebow was not picked in the first round so it is possible that he will be there if we choose
A bird in the hand is worth about 10.99 at KFC and makes me lick my chops
Yummy!!!!!
Whoever drafts Tebow will need to have a special offense in place to take advantage of what he does best. He isn’t going to fit in a West Coast offense.
Childress and Bevell aren’t exactly known for molding their offensive schemes to players’ abilities. Favre is a pocket passer and Tebow runs out of the shotgun.
This year has shown us that we need a QB like Favre. We don’t need a scrambler and Tebow’s poor throwing mechanics make him a long longterm project.
Say they are right
If he is more of a running QB then a passing QB, I really don’t see how he would fit here. Especially with the running game taken care of with A.P. and Chester. Now, if Chester wasn’t resigned, there might be more room for him, tho that’s a big if still. But if it is going to take a QB coach to change him from a runner to more of a passer, do we really want to spend that amount of time on him. We have already been going through that since 2006, and yet we sign a 40 year old QB to push us to the plateau that we have been searching for. Now, if Favre stayed on after he finally did decide to retire and become a QB coach, that might work, but still a big if again.
Now, if you are thinking a scrambler like Tarkenton that moved around until he found an opening, again, it sounds like there would be work to do in the passing area. We know Shotgun Offenses don’t last all that long in the NFL, just like the Wildcat will eventually go that way. After reading this, my thoughts on Tebow not fitting in haven’t changed and if anything, tell’s me more we need to pass on him. If we are unable to trade up to get one of the more sought after QB’s, there are other OB’s in the league that we have discussed that would be available for a low round pick or two and show alot of promise and have already spent a few seasons being coached and molded. I would rather go that route with a more safe chance we would get our money and times worth.
"That is the craziest sonofabitch I ever saw, how many more like him do you think are up there?"
Like I said, it conflicts with my way of thinking on the draft( OL's & DB's )
But when a physical specimen like Tebow is out there you have to at least entertain the thought.
AS QB’s go I would keep my eye on the situation in Philly as Donovan would be a good fit!

That would intrigue me more as he is already a bonifid starter, familiar with the style of O we already have, perhaps a little better in the WR area if not the same, would have a healthier RB corp to back him up instead of “broken down every other week” Westbrook and even during his couple of banged up years still put up respectable numbers.

+1
I think Tebow would actually be best at the Saints. Sean Peyton has Brees coming out of the shotgun a lot. But have you guys seen how bad Tebow has been struggling without Harvin. Talk at the end of last year was that he was coming back to learn a little WR because he knows he isnt going early as a QB.
I dont know what has changed peoples minds but I dont think he’ll even see the field barring injuries in his first 2-3 yrs as a QB.

Tim Tebow
Is the man, he’s a great athlete but so was TJack. I could do with a little less athelete and a little more QB.
Not a good draft pick as quarterback
Tebow would make a great NFL fullback. His throwing mechanics are really not at the pro level. He would not be a successful NFL quarterback. He has already worked very hard at improving his game and he still has bad throwing mechanics.
The offense that Tebow runs at Florida is much different from pro offenses. He would have to learn a completely new offense no matter what position he plays.
There are much better pro-type quarterbacks in the draft.
Agreed
Played in the spread his entire career which managed to hide his weak arm. Good athlete, but I am not sure where Tim will fit in the NFL.
Tebow actually has a fairly big arm. Coming out of high school, he was considered a 4 or 5 star recruit as a QB (the other big name shotgun-spread QBs—McCoy and Bradford—were both considered 2 or 3 star types). Not that that correlates to college and/or pro success, but Tebow does have some tools, potentially ones that could get people excited come pre-draft time, a la Pat White.
The problems for Tebow include his delivery, his touch/accuracy, and of course his ability to make reads (since he doesn’t have to do this at Florida: if his guy’s covered, he runs with it). He’ll have a long way to go to, to say the least, and I’ll be surprised if he’s drafted in Round 1. But you never know. While he’ll never, ever be a quarterback’s quarterback in the mold of Manning or Brady, if one team out there looks at his leadership, moxy, and arm, maybe they’ll squint hard and think they see Ben Rothlesberger. So long as it’s not Minnesota, fine by me. ;)
Just say 'No', to Tebow
I don’t see it happening, not with Bradford, Locker, Clausen, and McCoy, all running hotter than him, all better NFL fits than him, and at least two of them expected to drop to the 2nd round.
Tebow doesn’t fit the existing offense, and the offense isn’t going to change for Tebow because it’s just about custom-crafted for Favre. So far, Favre’s going to be here next year too, which means Tebow would be a serious long-term project just trying to retrain him to get rid of the damned ball. You think Rodgers is bad, Tebow will hold onto the ball 3 times as long.
We need a real QB, a solid QB, not a runner who throws when he doesn’t see an opening. That was the issue with T-Jack, and at least T-Jack has some experience. I’d rather go forward with T-Jack, than even consider Tebow.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!
