Should we root for Dallas or Green Bay??...

...Not so sure at this point... Of course , we all hate GB and would like *even more* distance between us and them, but realistically, the division race is already OVER.. and the next real goal should be trying to secure 1st round bye.. well the cowboys are the current 3-seed, (only one game behind min), so I think i will actually be pulling for the PACK, to put more distance between us and Dallas..

Way ahead of you on that one.

Green Bay to beat Dallas of course. Its a Lamblow so maybe. I hate Dallas too. Is their any chance they could both lose this game. The division is already locked up. Da Bears lost again so its apparent no one wants to win the division but us. The Pack at 4-4 are only one game back of a wildcard. If they have any chance of getting one they at least have to win their home games. It would be nice if the Pack could knock off Dallas. I wouldn’t bet on it though.

how bout they tie?

cuz that would still put them a game behind us even more

I'm rooting for the Pack

And then I’m flushing my own head down a toilet that Roseane bar to a crap in.

Yes it pains me that much to root for the Pack, but we need that #2 seed.

Whats best for us

I hate the Pack as much as the next Vikings fan but whats best for the Vikes right now is for Dallas to lose. It may very well may not matter anyway. I think we will get one of the top 2 seeds regardless. Look at it this way no matter who wins its good for us.

Six of one, half dozen of the other

TIE, maybe 27 – 27, with a couple of injuries. I don’t want to root for either.

+1

but I need fantasy points, so in regards to that, I’m hoping for a big game (stats wise) by Romo & Austin.

by PurpleCrush on Nov 13, 2009 10:13 AM CST up reply actions

I could get behind that!

A Packers loss, following the Bears six point failure, only further underscores how week a division the North actually is. These clubs are playing for pride and it ain’t looking pretty.

by LoveHate on Nov 13, 2009 10:18 AM CST up reply actions

Packers

Vikes already own the tie breaker.

by YeahVikes on Nov 13, 2009 10:22 AM CST reply actions

Winning the division is mission #1

so hopefully you all want GB to lose come Sunday. I understand the seed argument, but for the time being, let’s see how early we can sew up the North!

I agree

As Viking fans, we should know all too well not to take anything for granted.

Yeah....

I don’t like the ’boys at all, but I get way more satisfaction after a packer loss.

by PurpleCrush on Nov 13, 2009 10:28 AM CST reply actions

The Cowboys will not be a 13-3 or 14-2 team.

They will lose a few more times. Minnesota has a better chance of a 13-3 record, which should be more than sufficient for a first round bye. Home field might take 14-2; just depends if anyone can slow the freight train that is the New Orleans Saints.

Teams are getting close, they just can’t stop Brees in the second half.

by Frost on Nov 13, 2009 12:22 PM CST up reply actions

With you Manimal

We control our own destiny anyway. Right now we are the #2 seed. As long as we end up not any worse than that we will be ok. I’m getting ahead of myself but I think we would match up well with the Saints. If we have to play them at their house so be it. We have the tools to beat them.

by iowaron on Nov 14, 2009 1:21 PM CST up reply actions

we do control out own destiny

but we are an injury or two away from maybe dropping a couple of games in the later stretch. So I’ll take every win that will ensure us home field atvantage as long as we can get it in the play offs. Destiny is a funny thing, it twists and turns and no one really knows where it is going to set you.

Go Packers

The same pragmatism and belief in focusing on the big picture that made me put aside my distaste for Favre when he signed with Minnesota dictates that I cheer for Green Bay in this game.

by Midnight Rambler on Nov 13, 2009 11:35 AM CST reply actions

Easy call...

The division is gift wrapped already, let’s root for the Pack to try and help us put some distance between us and the rest of the pack (slight pun intended)…

by ctowner35 on Nov 13, 2009 11:41 AM CST up reply actions

Cheer for Dallas!

How dare anyone cheer for Green Bay!

by REVENGE4FAVRE on Nov 13, 2009 11:46 AM CST reply actions

Need Dallas to be in a tie for their division

If G.B. wins that puts Dallas in a tie for their division. That means no resting hurt players. No break in the pressure all the way to the playoffs. I also would like the world to know that Dallas is no better than the Packers.

As a fan of the NFC north I have to root for them over the “boys”

by lifelongvike on Nov 13, 2009 12:40 PM CST reply actions

i'd like to see the pack make the playoffs

wouldn’t it be great to play them one more time?

has anyone ever had double digit sacks in a season on one qb??

would rogers demand hazard pay? or would he just sue mcarthy for an unsafe work environment?

by iseepurplepeople on Nov 13, 2009 1:05 PM CST reply actions

Don't "root" for either!

I would prefer for Green Bay to win, but I can’t honestly make myself root or cheer for anyone other than the Vikes. Living in VA I have been to a few Redskins games where we would always bet on anything and everything (score on the next possession, first down on next play, 3-and-out next possession, etc.) just so we had a legit reason to yell for one team or the other. Unless it’s the Vikes I just really don’t care enough to expend the energy…

by Jshore on Nov 13, 2009 1:06 PM CST reply actions

I'll bet you...

Rodgers gets sacked…
Romo throws an interception…

I BELIEVE...

by ArizonaVikingsFan on Nov 13, 2009 3:18 PM CST up reply actions

root. prefer. more points. and then?

It would be funny watching the false sense of hope in GB if they win. But who’s not enjoying watching the Packers and their fans at rock bottom after an embarassing loss to TB? I would love for rock bottom to last the rest of the season.

But……Dallas needs to be brought back to Earth. And we need that 1st round bye locked up sooner rather than later. So even though Packers have a small chance of winning, and I will still enjoy it if they lose, I’ll root for them.

by dsludo on Nov 13, 2009 1:28 PM CST reply actions

Whatever

Whatever happens, happens. The Vikings will just have to deal with the Lions next week. That’s the only game that matters this week.

by medicineball on Nov 13, 2009 2:29 PM CST reply actions

Very true

You are correct Medicineball.

by lifelongvike on Nov 13, 2009 2:56 PM CST up reply actions

But it is WAY more fun to pretend your wishes and wants can affect a foot ball game

Other wise seriously why are we all on these boards going ape crap about a team?

by Grime on Nov 13, 2009 4:07 PM CST up reply actions

Pulling for Dallas to lose

We want all the front runners to lose. It helps with homefield advantage in the playoffs.

by Belarus on Nov 13, 2009 3:11 PM CST reply actions

To clarify

I am not cheering for the Packers to win… but I want the Cowboys to lose.

by Belarus on Nov 13, 2009 3:12 PM CST up reply actions

Let’s cheer for the Cowboys to beat themselves.

I BELIEVE...

by ArizonaVikingsFan on Nov 13, 2009 3:19 PM CST up reply actions

Why take sides?

Why waste your precious time asking yourself or others for whom to root in this one?

Just root for season-ending injuries, and let God sort it out.

by Elgar on Nov 14, 2009 1:12 AM CST reply actions

Dang man that's pretty harsh

I don’t wish an injury on anyone. Sort of a karmic person here. Plus as a person who ended his college football career with a torn ACL/MCL I don’t with that on anyone.
