A Humble Request From the Guy in Charge (That's Me)

Hey, folks. . .this is something I was hoping to not have to bring up, but several folks have brought it to my attention, so I figured I'd toss it out there now.

For those of you that have been on the site since the beginning, you know that when I first started out, particularly in the game threads, I was prone to a lot of language that I probably wouldn't use in mixed company. Lots of swearing, lots of vulgarities, all that sort of stuff. However, as the site gained a little more exposure and was brought to a wider audience, I had to tone myself down a bit.

The game threads are a place for us to get worked up about the action on the field and stuff like that, and I realize that. Believe me, if you guys could hear what I was saying over here, I'd be thoroughly embarrassed. Frankly, I'm surprised that neither Mrs. Gonzo nor any of my three dogs has had a heart attack thus far. (Not just this year. . .in the 3+ years and 58 regular season and playoff games I've been running this site for.) But I try not to let that bleed over into the Game Threads or anything like that.

I guess what I'm saying is that getting emotional and stuff in the Game Threads is fine. . .but let's try to keep the swearing to pretty much nothing. I don't want folks to start avoiding the Game Threads (and, ostensibly, the site as a whole) because of the kinds of language that we can all get by without using.

Thanks in advance for helping out on this front, ladies and gentlemen. Feel free to resume celebrating the Vikings moving to 8-1 on the season!

Wouldn’t want to lose the fan base you have built up here….

This is a great site for us all to enjoy…

Want to keep it that way…

As blog sites go this one has been pretty good at keeping it clean. Way to go guys & gals
It shows a liitle class. I’m a Hawkeye fan. Yeah I know it makes you want to swear already. I was on the Black heart gold pants site & its F this & F that & its by everyone. So lets all follow Gonzo’s lead. We can all say what we have to say without putting the profanity in print. Besides watch your language Iv’e got my Mother’s picture in my back pocket.

i apologize, and i, personally will attempt to keep the swearing to a minimum, but i can’t make any promises! ;)

I piss people off on a fairly regular basis. I cherish my right to speak my mind, whether I sound like an uneducated savage or not. I've never been accused of keeping what I think a secret, nor will I ever. Don't like it? I don't care.
