interesting Statement By Skip
I was recently watching a video on espn.com. it was a clip of the show espn first take and they were talking about a
statement Packers Head Coach Mike Macarthy made about the Cowboys Offense and how is the best offense they
faced to date. Which was weird because they have faced the vikings twice. (it was like a shot at the vikings and
brett farve). So not surprisingly Skip Bayless agree's with Macarthy and says the cowboys offense in more of a
threat than the vikings offense. Then he proceeds to make a simply outrageous statment saying how he would
Rather take Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and Tashard Choice over Adrian Peterson and how peterson in not a make
miss guy. then he also says he would take Miles austin and Jason witten over an two vikings receviers along with
taking the coyboys chemistry over the Vikings because of the Preseson Schism. and I'm like WTF! I wish I had the
video to show you but I cant find it on the site anymore. so what do you think? i remind you this was be fore the
Cowboys and Packers game like the week before.

I think the one thing we can all agree on
Is that Skip Bayless is an idiot that hasn’t been intelligent or relevant in a very long time.

Definite loss when New England pays them a visit I think.

Inevitible
New Orleans will lose 1 of their 4 remaining away games:
@Tampa – they’ve been looking MUCH tougher lately
@Washington – look how they dismantled the Broncos yesterday
@Atlanta – even through Atlanta’s struggles, they’re still perfect at home
@Carolina – this is a team on a MISSION – I fear them in a few weeks on Sunday Night Football
Plus, they still have to play Dallas and New England at home.
I could EASILY see 2-3 losses coming from the likes of all these teams on the rise. Plus, the more wins NO gets, the bigger the target to ruin their perfect season…

What a bunch of idiots
I wonder, if the Cowboys O is so much more p[potent then ours, why did they only score a whopping 7 points against the Packers? Why did ours score a combined 68 points against them? Why do we have a RB who is well within the rushing lead, a WR who just nailed 200+ yards today, Harvin who is looking at Rookie of the year? Let’s see, Williams has been ho hum, Barber, eh, ok and Romo is Romo. Time to lay off the crack. No wonder why the Packers arent going anywhere anytime soon with a coach that makes stupid statements like that trying to cover his ineptness. Also, it’s just another sign of the anti-Vikings love at ESPN.

It tells you a lot
when Adrian is asked to comment about runs, one of his criteria for judging them is whether the defenders actually touch him. There have been plenty of Slackers defenders sliding around grabbing at him as he goes by. I can remember Woodson and Collins off the top of my head.
Forget McCarthy. He’s in an impossible situation. They were around a .500 team last year, look like they will be again this year and probably next year as well with all the players entering free agency. That isn’t good enough. Both he and Teddy won’t be around that long, but they were smart enough to get their extensions, so they’re set for life.

Not An Idiot
Skip Bayless is not an idiot—he is a contrarian. That is, he made his name in sports journalism by taking the un-popular-questionable-just plain wrong position on any debate. Bayless does not make outlandish statements because he believes in the un-popular position (that would make him an idiot), but because it makes him a lightning rod for controversy, and hence gains him attention.
Anyone remember how Bayless first gained national attention? He announced in the mid-90s that Troy Aikman was struggling at QB for the Cowboys because Aikman was gay. Bear in mind Bayless had zero evidence to back this up. That bit of scandal-mongering got Bayless a gig on ESPN.com’s Page 2, where Bayless honed his skills at disagreeing with everyone else for the sake of disagreeing with everyone else.

i guess...
that would make ESPN the IDIOTS for actually giving that guy a job. that is what is wrong with the journalistic world today. it doesn’t have to be true to report it. as long as it sells. kind of puts me in mind of politicians and their smear-campaigns. ESPN should leave that kind of crap to rags like the national enquirer, and just stick to actual sports reporting.

They have a name for it
It’s called “advocacy journalism”, which is a fancy way for saying that the reporter is heavily biased and is trying to convince the audience to his point of view. Most of the news outlets are rife with it, it’s not surprising that it’s filtering down into the sports arena.
What is surprising is that the public remains mostly ignorant of what the media is doing, and most of those who are aware it, don’t raise a bigger stink about how much it ruins things when you can’t rely on the ‘Fourth Estate’ to do the job it was enfranchised to perform.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!

Skip Bayless a.k.a. "The Diabolical Hater"
This tops that! This morning, not five minutes ago Skip Bayless (who is reputed to be a Cowboys fan) gave all of the credit for the Packers win to the Packers (defense). Continuing to say this was the game that turns around their season which results in a playoff spot and which he sees ending after the superbowl via defeating the Vikings along the way. ’It’s hard to beat a team three times in a season…blahzy blahzy blah!’
Side Note: He also said that the Packers were his preseason pick to represent the NFC. So…he gets credit for sticking to that anyway.

Bayless......
has always thought that A.D. is overrated. He has never given A.D. credit for anything. He is clueless!

Don't like the guy
He always seems to let his likes or dislikes for players or teams get in the way of reality. I remember seeing him with Ochocinco on ESPN a while back and he wouldn’t tell Ochocinco that the Bengals were a good team.
I also remember him talking about how Kevin “Gar-NOT”, as he likes to call him, had nothing left along with the rest of the Celtics and then they went on to win it all.
The guy really doesn’t know much about sports in general. And I can’t believe McCarthy said the Cowboys offense would be the best offense we have faced so far this year. Though I have to say it doesn’t surprise me. The guy definitely isn’t the brightest bulb in the box.

Skip's plan for each episode of First Take
- Get a list of topics from the producers.
- Write down every logical argument that will make the most sense for each topic.
- Go on the air.
- Shout very loudly arguing for the exact opposite point of view you wrote down from Step 2.
- Look and act as smug as possible.
- Watch everyone get pissed off at you, and count your money while realizing all press is good press.
Skip Bayless can’t possibly truly believe half the crap he says, but he knows how to stay on the air. I personally change the channel every time he’s on my TV, but he manages to stir the pot enough to remain pathetically relevant.
