Nine Reasons to Beat the Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks (3-6) are coming to town for a Sunday afternoon football game with the Minnesota Vikings (8-1). At this point in the middle of the season, no team in the NFL has clinched a playoff berth. Here are nine reasons for the Vikings to beat the Seahawks.

  1. Guarantee a winning record on the regular season. To get the 9th win would mean the Vikings would be guaranteed a winning record, at least 9-7, on the regular season.
  2. Stay undefeated at home. The Vikings are currently 4-0 at home.
  3. Get another conference win and stay unbeaten in the conference. The Vikings are currently 6-0 in the NFC.
  4. Take an opportunity to beat stars and rising stars like Matt Hasselbeck, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Nate Burleson, Julius Jones, Justin Forsett, Patrick Kerney, Max Unger, Aaron Curry, Marcus Trufant, Lawyer Milloy, and Jordan Babineaux.
  5. Prevent the Seahawks from getting their first road win on the season. The Seahawks are currently 0-4 on the road.
  6. Take one more step toward repeating as champions of the NFC North.
  7. Stay close in the race for the #1 seed in the NFC.
  8. Beat Steve Hutchinson's old team.
  9. Make a statement by beating a desperate Seahawks team that will be playing hard to keep their  postseason hopes alive..

We'll smear them

I used to live in Seattle when Hassleback first got there. The amount of pressure we’ll put on him will crush him. He does not do well when getting sacked. Julius Jones has got a punctured lung or something, and their defense should go back down to pop warner where they might actually get some penetration.

Blow out..Why?

The Seahawks have been UGLY on the road this year. This team isn’t strong on the fronts (over-all) and they’re on a bad down fall, especially with holmgreen looking to sit up in the box (possibly Cleveland)

The Vikings will be able to run on this squad and do it in big chunks. As for our Defense, Their O-line never replaced Hutchinson and they’re slow when they don’t have the snap count on their side. Hassleback will be forced to throw quick timed passes and our LB’s and Winfield (that feels good to say) eating that up.

The huge X factor this week: An offense thats becoming really close to hitting stride. Everyone is starting to understand their role, and our offense play-book is expanding. Brett Favre has been throwing a very high completion percentage. Even though games alot of our games are being played indoors, defenses without depth will begin to wear down with injuries and bumps and bruises. And our Special teams has been Superb.

blowout

Vikings win 38 – 17. Most of the points Seattle scores will be towards the end when our second team goes in, Housh has a ringing in his ear’s sounding alot like laughter and chants of “Houshbag” as he slowely realizes that his “Golden Ticket” was punched by Favre and Harvin instead.

See ya Sucker!

"If you're gonna shoot, shoot, don't talk."
"That is the craziest sonofabitch I ever saw, how many more like him do you think are up there?"
"We have clearance Clearance. Roger Rodger, what's our vector Victor?"

Vikings Win

Vikes 28 – Seahawks 7

And to provide further info, I’ll say that the game looks like a bigger blowout than the score reflects, too. The TD comes in garbage-time. Also, we knock Hasselbeck outta the game.

As long as he is knocked on his A#@ is enough....

That numerous times preferably….

We need him to be as stable as the economy for this entire game!

Plus it fits with our Four Norseman image…..

AAAAGGGRRRRHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

I would rather be IN the Arena than watching from the stands...That is my life!

I hope we win against a healthy Seahawks team

I want the Vikings to beat the Seahawks when they are at their best. I don’t ever like to see injuries happen to any player on any team. To see a game between two fully stocked teams would be the best game, and a win for the Vikings in that circumstance would go the furthest to prove that the Vikings were the better team.

Close win

The Vikings don’t have a great secondary anyway, and Winfield will be out again. Passing is the ‘Hawks’ strong point, so I expect the final score to be something like 31-27.

Someone mentioned knocking Hasselbeck out of the game. I don’t know if that’s a good idea. I like Seneca Wallace.

Agreed

The Seahawks played the Cardinals close last week. The Cards won at home but it was 31-29.

by medicineball on Nov 19, 2009 1:55 PM CST up reply actions

31-20

according to this box score. That’s still reasonably close, and the game was virtually tied for 3 qtrs.

Both the ’Hawks and the Cards got off to a rough start, but I believe that they will finish with better records than they have today.

Well I will say this

Eric put a pull up at Field Gulls and their overwhelming feeling of the game is a blowout for the Vikes… Got to feel for them, I’ve felt that way in season past many times.

by Grime on Nov 19, 2009 12:48 PM CST reply actions

You are too kind.

Jordan Babineaux is a role player at best, Milloy old and washed up, Patrick Kerney is DONE, Julius Jones is average at best.

Vikings win 34-14

Make a statement by beating a desperate Seahawks team that will be playing hard to keep their postseason hopes alive..

At this point they are already dead. Including the tiebreaker, we’re 4 games behind the division leader, Arizona.

by redwolf75 on Nov 19, 2009 12:55 PM CST reply actions

there's really one 1 reason

we’re the vikings and they’re not. that’s the only reason i need.

by iseepurplepeople on Nov 19, 2009 1:25 PM CST reply actions

Vikings win, 35-9

The Vikings take another step toward the goal. What stuck out today was EJ Henderson playing great.

Next week, the Vikings play the Bears.
