Favre almost didn't play yesterday due to injury!
How ironic it would have been if his streak had ended with his first trip back to Lambeau?!
Favre revealed he had a groin injury that flared up before the game at Lambeau and for a few moments made him think he might not be able to play.
"I told T-Jack (backup QB Tarvaris Jackson) and (O-coordinator) Darrell Bevell I may not be able to do it,'' Favre told SI.com. "I didn't know if I'd be able to drop back very well. After I aggravated it, there was no way I was going to be able to move around in the pocket very much. We never called one bootleg the whole game. But we made it through OK.''
I actually noticed that during the game, hardly any bootlegs (I didn't realize it was none at all though). I just figured it was due to better pass blocking making them less necessary. Good thing the Packers were not aware though. Although one wonders if there will be an injury report fine becasue of this, giventhe precedent with Favre & the Jets ...
This also clarifies the comment in the after game PC from Favre that the Bye Weekk came at a great time. I thought he might have been referring to Winfield & harvin's shoulder & AD, but now I think he was including himself.
Favre has always been very lucky in when his byes have fallen relative to his injuries.

Wow!
And things could have turned out very differently…
During the game blog, someone mentioned that they saw Favre limping. I watched him closely after that and didn’t see any limp, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t limping previously, and hiding it.
Can’t help but respect a guy for playing through it when he’s hurting, but he’s got to know when it’s keeping him from performing up to par. I think that’s the tough part…

i saw him limp
I was wondering if he was hurt, but then no trainer or staff member went over and shortly he was kidding around with his teammates. I assumed it was something minor that he shook off.

Well whatever Dr. Andrews did to Favre’s arm, he should immediately do to his groin! Yeah I just went there.

Favre: Doc, there is something wrong with… You know… Down there.
Dr Andrews: Well, let me take a look.
Hmm… Very Interesting.
Favre: What?
Dr Andrews: Well, it seems you pulled it a little too hard. It’s probably due to your quick release.
Favre: Well, if I don’t pull it hard it doesn’t come out fast enough and then I get sacked in the backfield.
Dr Andrews: From the looks of things, they must get pretty good penetration when you hold on to it too long.
Favre: Yea, usually my tight end get’s beat on an end-around and I go down a few times before I am able to get up and make a good, strong drive.
Dr Andrews: Hmmm… Well, we might have to find you a receiver with softer hands. That way when you force it into tight coverage, he is less likely to take a shot in the mouth.

Not good
A 40 year old with a groin pull is concerning. Those injuries tend to linger and are suceptible to further aggrivation. The bye week couldnt have come at a better time.

You know if he hadn't played
Packer fans would have said he was “Too afraid” to play at Lambeau again. I think he wanted that game pretty badly for himself too.
