Be ashamed to be part of this blog if The Spielman Famiy story only gets 4 posts,it should be clicking off the charts
, set your Facebook, twitters and everything.Send the story that someone passed on from breast cancer at age 42, so check ups and Mams need be done before age 50, in fact should be started when breasts are formed and should be a yearly check up.
Be a voice, be heard, speak out, dont just let your play calling be just be limited to football,I have my Wife and Family members get checked yearly along with self exams. So do those checkups and email love ones to get reg check ups include with B-day cards, Yuletide cards etc.

I totally agree that checkups should be annual, and earlier than 40!
My gf was lucky enough to get her breast cancer detected in her 20s, when a simple biopsy could remove the small lump and she’s been fine ever since. I totally agree that the checkups should start no later than 20, it’s just worth the risk.
That being said… while I understand, and my heart and sympathies go out to the Spielmann family… this is a Vikings football site. I’m good with maintaining the context too.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!

“just NOT worth the risk of refusing to check”

Hmmmmm....
Being a football fan I see this a bit differently….the definition for me includes what is happening to a degree in the personal lives of the team/team members….When a sad event like this happens, I do think we can offer condolences to those involved and do that within the parameters of this blog site….
Are we regimented on this blog site to the point that we dare show no emotion other than what we feel for the game itself? Based on the amount of passion shown for the Vikes by us all, do think it can carry over to compassion realm as well….for me anyway…
Of course there are limits….say a negative post on Fox news or something may be too far, even if related remotely and in a farfetched manner to what happens in football…..oooof……Did I just call myself out LOL?
; )
Let’s get a W on Sunday….GO VIKINGS!!!!!
I will be dressed in purple!!!!!!
I imagine Chilly might say on this subject…..“Let’s Chill but get the W while being human and humane while doing it!”

i would agree with you here if i thought it was remotely possible that spielman or any of his family, or anyone in the vikings organization for that matter, actually read this blog.

Agree - Do not think they (Vikings or staff/etc.) read anything we post...
Maybe they get presented a stray post or two once in a while (I doubt that), but generally I would guess not….so we agree on that! This is a site for fans that have chosen to spend their valuable Vikings time here as opposed to the many other sites that are online….
So really the place here is for what we choose to make it into….within the limits of the rules of course….which if too strict will drive fans away to other more accommodating sites….and if too loose will drive away the more average fans (leaving the ones who are into spewing total nonsense and ugliness in all its various forms)….
That being said, know that we do now have a great site and a lot is due to who we have running/managing it…..so I guess we all try to follow their not too restricting rules….And all enjoy the team/games/chatter….and yes for me compassion once in a while…..
Maybe the solution is to just not look at the posts that one disagrees with…..kinda vanilla for me though doing this….rather have it more like a bar setting….where who knows what the heck will be said….it is all good (mostly anyway)!

Sometimes I wish I could type/describe the face I make at some of the comments I read…
You know the look you’d give your buddy after a stupid comment, just before you say ‘WTF’.
I BELIEVE...
