AD will not win the rushing title
As much as I would like AD to win it this year I do not see it. Not because he is not good enough but because our team is just to good and balanced. I know he will not mind and I sure do not mind that he will not win it because we are likely to win much more important things this year. Division, NFC....SB. It is awsome to have a team that can attack at so many different areas.

It all depends...
Are teams going to continue to stack the line or will they drop back, since AP hasn’t looked “good” lately (sarcasm, FYI).
If they finally decide to drop back into coverage, we may see AP start to put up some big numbers again and regain the lead

Chris Johnson
He has about 100 yard lead on him and they play Monday night. It would be really hard to catch him without an injury. I have no problem with him not getting it. Sitting him in the fourth quarter makes a lot of sense to me, it a long season and the end is the only part that counts.
it is better to be thought of as dumb then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Maybe
but I could still see AP getting some 200+ yd games, especially against Chicago

I would really enjoy that!
But at the same time if we can get up by 4 td’s and sit him I can take a whole lot of satisfaction in that as well!

Totally agree with that
We have an inevitable postseason matchup with Dallas/Arizona and then New Orleans to prepare for…

I'm fine with this
That said, there are still several games left to play. Who knows?

It's still up for grabs.
But if he doesn’t get it a ring should make up for it!

I'm sure AD
would take a Super Bowl over a rushing title any day
From the only TRUE North division

Don't count him out just yet.
AP can get yardage in bunches. I’ll admit it doesn’t look like he will at the moment. 6 games to go, he could still get it. If he’s a couple of hundred yards behind with 2 games to play I’ll concede it then. 6 games is alot .

Taylor playing too much in the 4th Qtr.
for an AD rushing title. Peterson gets better late in games, when we have big leads and we’re not playing him as much. Then, even when he’s in, Favre is so good late in games that Peterson still doesn’t get the ball as often late.

stick to the formula...
25 passes for Favre and 20-something runs for AD…
Keep them both ‘fresh’ for our playoff run.
I BELIEVE...

Its nice for AD
It would be nice to see him get it but staying healthy is more important. I like to see them run Chester a few more times earlier in the game. He runs hard up the gut and he can get some nice solid runs in his own right. Having them both in the back field at the same time is a good idea. Teams key on AD so much that CT can get some yardage also. He may not be the take it to the house threat that AD is but he can get you 4,5,6, yards a pop right down their throat.

Honestly if the Vikings get a W I don’t care if AP gets 20 yards or 200. Resting our starters when we can is prudent and more important to the only goal that matters (S.B.)

Ap good for the long haul
Ap knows as well as anybody that Running backs ( especially hard running ones) get worn out and their careers go down the drain if overused. He had 363 carries last year and is on track to carry 328 times this year not including playoff games. Running backs go downhill after 30 years old. AP is 24 years old. His value will remain high only if he keeps his carries down. Plus his stock rises if he is a good teammate putting team victories over individual glory.
Nothing I’ve ever read says this guy isn’t a Great teammate.
Lets just keep doing what were doing and Win.

It should be noted that...
In 2008, AD had 10 td’s….so far in 2009 he has 11 td’s
Also in 2008, AD had a 4.8 yards per run….so far in 2009 he has 4.9 yards per run
So he is having better production with less carries
by Loki The Viking God on Nov 23, 2009 11:03 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
If that means him still being pretty fresh for playoffs — which is what I think him having better production on fewer carries indicates — then that is a tradeoff I think we’ll all willingly take (including him … especially him).

You said it best with that.
It’s okay if AD doesn’t get the rushing title. It’s the SB we want, and that’s a “Team Accomplishment”. All these rushing titles and MVP’s are nice to get, bet they’re individual accomplishments. The only individual accomplishment I care about is the SB-MVP. :)

Wait for it....
I suspect during the interview in February, he’ll say he loves his SB XLIV ring better than his 2008 rushing title.

He maybe can try for the post-season record than
Because he will be merely fresh when It’s all said and done!
