On the horrifically-awkward/hilarious-when-taken-out-of-context meter, I think Brad Childress' discussion of Brett Favre's groin easily shattered the record. By posting this soundbite, I, dear readers, have just lobbed you a softball...have at it. (HT: The Sporting Blog)

Now that's comedy

I believe all Viking fans must be masochistic!!

Yeah this has actually been circulating three days

I think the discussion already played out in hte fanposts & elsewhere on the net (at least for me), so maybe not much left to say.

For the record, I enjoyed the dry humor of it, I appreciate that kind of personality over, say, the “robotic” PCs of Mike McCarthy. But them again I used to live in England, so maybe I’ve developed a taste for that kind of wit.

In case it didn't come through

What I’m telling you is that I think Childress did that deliberately, subtly mocking the press for asking for so many details on the injury.

I got it....

Fits w Chilly’s personality too….

I wonder if Chilly had a smile on his face while saying that?

A morning Top 40 radio station crew here in DC made fun of this yesterday, and pointed out that Chilly sounds just like the Men’s Wearhouse guy.

I want to hear Chilly say “You’re gonna like the way you look. I gaurantee it!”

A little

there are tons of videos of him saying it out there (

I didn’t look at what Anthony21 posted, since as I said I saw it days ago. Does it really not have the video to go with the audio? That’s unfortunate. Here’s the complete AV experience. If you watch the whole thing (where Childress later talks about Favre maybe chasing a deer down on foot and killing it with a Bowie knife over bye week), and you watch the other video on ST from same PC where you see him answering questions ovve and over on injuries to players, that’s how you can get the sense that he’s maybe mocking their questions subtly):

Maybe Chilly

along with every other Viking fan is just really infatuated with BF’s groin region. Not surprising!

You stay classy Cracka.

When you go to somebody's house, you don't crap on their floor. Being a fan of one team does NOT give you license to be a dick to fans of another.

Corollary: When people are visiting your house and behaving themselves, them being a fan of a different team is NOT a reason for you to piss in their beer.

Well, at least

the story of Favre’s “stiff groin” had a happy ending.

Chilly is pretty funny sometimes

I am almost certain that he is deliberately mocking the media with his dry sense of humor. Mission accomplished. Really it is pretty funny what he said no matter what way you look at it. Unfortunate word selection. Freudian slip. Dry mocking of the media without them knowing it.

Good stuff. Reminds me of when he used to talk about working Chester up into a lather. Maybe he can start combining his bizarre word choices.

He reminds me of that kind of goofy professor that is hilarious but only to people who understand his jokes…which is basically nobody but himself and other witty dry humor types.
