if farve gets hurt
It is very likely that our #1 qb gets hurt for at least part of a game or a couple of games. How does TJ perform?
I feel that if he comes into a game he will probably do well. This is due to the fact that the other team has prepared for Farve the whole week and TJ's mobility should cause problems. However the games after that would be questionable depending upon who we would be playing and if there is an open playbook and execution.
Does TJ get a get the hook quickly in favor of Rosen? Would we have to loose a couple of games before replacement? What sort of performance would make Chilly replace him?

Why?
It is very likely that our #1 qb gets hurt for at least part of a game or a couple of games.
Why is it very likely? You are talking about Brett Favre here. Actually, you are right in a way – he probably will get hurt. Thing is, he’ll probably play right through it just like he always has. I understand, he’s 40, he’s got a torn rotator cuff, and he’s aching a little bit in his knees, ankles and G-roin. Still don’t see him missing time though — I’m just looking at the past (or his past) to predict the future.
The only way I see him coming out is when we secure a playoff berth, but even then he’ll probably continue to play until we lock up HFA. Then, pull him. Rest him for the playoffs.

I am amenable to this scenario....
Lock up HFA first though…..

I don't know Sage well enough to really state how he would do compared to TJ
But I’m pretty sure I know TJ well enough now to know he’s do horribly.
Problem with TJ is we’d have to go back to running a very basic offense. TJ may not make a lot of mistakes running it but we’ll lose games. This was the reason Frerotte came in last year. Even though his numbers were on par with TJ’s he played a better game and allowed the coaching staff to call what they needed to call in order to be competitive.
Don’t need the handcuffs toss TJ.

I said he takes a 1-2 games and does well
I don’t think BF will be at the point he can’t play, but will be rested the last couple games or at least not play the complete games to rest for the playoffs. Jackson should do well after 14 games learning from BF and his general trend of improvement in his career. Granted Jackson won’t look as good as Brett, but I don’t see him being any less than the better half of his games last year.

T-jax wil be fine
There is a reason that Sage didn’t win out the backup position in training camp. T-jax is better. Now he has had half a season to watch how to run the offense correctly.
10-9 as a starter. 20 TD’s- 18 Interceptions. One playoff loss out of 1 game.
Not a bad record for a backup.
Sage Rosenfels 6-6 as a starter. 30 TD’s- 29 interceptions Never been in a playoff game.
I like Sage and am glad he is on the team. However, I think the coaches know who is the better backup.

TJack can work in a pinch
We need BF to get us through the playoffs but Tjack would be alright for a few games. Plus we got Sage to back him up. Even if we lost BF for the playoffs we would have a fighting chance.
If Drew Brees goes down the you can stick a fork in the Saints because they are done. Tjack is athletic enough for us to mix up our offense with Harvin & AP in the wildcat. If he & Rosenfels could keep mistakes to a minimum we would at least have a shot. Lets just hope we don’t have to find out.

Stick a fork in them
I had not contemplated the Saints without Brees. They have a decent running game. Fair defense. Enter 39 year old Mark Brunell. Farve v Brunell. What a game!!! The ancient bowl, one for the ages, NFL senior bowl.
Brunell has been around a long time for a reason. He really is that good in a backup role.
Would be interesting.

Jackson has been good coming off the bench
Jackson presents matchup problems because of his speed. If defenses prepare for a quarterback who stays in the pocket or rolls out once in a while, they might not be prepared for Tarvaris Jackson scrambling and making plays with his feet and through the air.
I have confidence in Tarvaris.

Its not his feet
The feet aren’t the problem its the recognition of a defense he can exploit by passing. Any QB can rely on AP rushing but what makes the Vikings succeed is Farve passing when they expect a run. Further the defense does not stack and it opens up the running game. To date T-Jax has not shown a team that he can exploit the defenses. I’m very high on the fact that the Farve experience will allow T-Jax to see how its done. Much different learning experience than hearing about it or seeing it on film.
Heres hoping your right.

If Favre goes down...
You should be punched in the throat for suggesting it.
