Around SBN: Josh Hamilton's Unique Public Statement On His Addiction

Week Nine Open Thread

Not going to be paying a whole lot of attention to football today, I'll be honest. . .going to be doing some schoolwork and will likely just have football on the TV for background noise.

The other three NFC North teams will all be in action this week.  The Bears will play host to the Arizona Cardinals, and will hope to hold them to less than 40 points. . .I have my doubts.  The Packers travel to Florida to take on the last winless team in the NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  And in one of the late games, the Lions head out to Qwest Field to face off with the Seattle Seahawks.

There's lots of other NFL action to be had today as well. . .and, if you'd like, you can discuss it all here with your fellow Viking fans.  Enjoy!

Some things never change

Tommie Harris gets kicked out of the game in Chicago for being a dirty piece of crap and straight up punching Deuce Lutui in the face after a play.

Yeah, they gotta sweep the Lions 1st though.

Then the Vikings can afford to lose 1 game against the Bears and still win the division.

I found another gem from Windy City Gridiron

http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2009/4/30/860541/poll-iglesias-or-harvin

That was right after the draft.

Flash forward to today:
Iglesias: 0 catches, 0 yards.
Harvin: Front runner for Rookie of the Year

by All Day, All Night on Nov 8, 2009 1:43 PM CST reply actions

But Jerry Angelo drafted Iglesias

And that guy’s a freaking genius.

Don’t worry. . .I’m sure that if Iglesias can ever get off of the inactive list, he’ll just blow Harvin’s doors off.

If you look at the Bears’ inactive list, I think it contains about 75% of their 2009 draft class.

Don't yap too much at APC

The folks over there are generally good guys, and don’t deserve to have stuff like this rubbed in their faces.

I hope the Lions win today, because I don’t want to face them after a tough loss, they’ll be pissed.

Go for it, Bucs

You have a QB that’s 6’6" and huge. . .it’s not even a foot. . .get the first down, take the victory formation, and go home.

ANOTHER sack. christ Rodgers, you gotta throw the ball man.

although i enjoy watching you get hit so, im fine with this.

by jlahey on Nov 8, 2009 3:20 PM CST reply actions

some coach should tell Rodgers to get rid of the ball

Jared Allen is to football what Jason Voorhees is to Lake Crystal.
Percy Harvin is Devin Hester, except someone very smart decided to teach him how to catch and run routes.

play and lose to a winless team its a good day.hehe and they had the Pack winning Divison and going S.B.

by speedlod on Nov 8, 2009 3:24 PM CST reply actions

Rodgers just isn't a winner

Plain and simple. What O line gives a QB 6+ seconds every pass play?

by PurpleJesus on Nov 8, 2009 3:26 PM CST reply actions

We may all find out

That he can’t make decisions any faster and this holding the ball is going to haunt his career.

haha only way this day gets even better if Carolina knocks off the Saints!

by dsludo on Nov 8, 2009 3:32 PM CST reply actions

Such a great day for Viking's football - and we didn't even play!!!

So sweet – Packers lose to the lowly Bucs (so, so awesome) and the Bears continue their slide into mediocrity. If the Saints lose, what a fun day!! :D

obviously he is. They probably gave him 1 hour to use the internet. Time’s up and he’s backon his way to his rubber room

by dsludo on Nov 8, 2009 3:38 PM CST up reply actions

Amazing

The Bears have played the Lions and Browns, too, and will eventually get to play the Rams.

The Bears have also played the Seahawks, who are horrible, and they needed lucky missed field goals to get past them. Minnesota gets to play them, too.

Ah, well. . .their season is over. Such levels of bitterness are to be expected. Now they get to turn around on a short week and fly out west to play a Niners team that’s going to shove the ball down their throats for four quarters.

If they weren’t such insufferable pricks, I’d almost feel bad for them. Almost.

Delhomme will throw picks while JA feasts on a 6-sack day.
