Winfield Back in Action
Some good news coming off a great bye week: Antoine Winfield was able to get on the practice field for a bit today (though not during the part of practice that was open to the media). Still don't know when he'll be back -- Chilly didn't address that today -- but Toine's apparently getting there.

Sit him
unless he’s 100% healthy. I say that for a lot of players… We should be able to play the starters for the first half and then sit BF, AD, JA, Pat and a few other key vets…

Agreed
When was the last time Detroit beat the Vikings IN Minnesota….?
Rest him, we’ll need him for the Arizona/Carolina/Cincinnati stretch. Detroit and Seattle at home are gimme’s.

Just heard yesterday.......
It was like 1993 or 94 season. We don’t need Winfield for this game.

I agree- Rest Winfield
Lets play hard and try to build a large enough lead to get the new guys some playing time.
We can’t treat this game any different than the last but if we get a big enough lead then rest the guys early. I have a hard time believing Winfield will be needed Sunday. Although missed we still defended pretty well in the Green Bay game.

i think sit him.
no need to bring him back too soon and get him hurt worse. we’re doing alright without him for now.
I piss people off on a fairly regular basis. I cherish my right to speak my mind, whether I sound like an uneducated savage or not. I've never been accused of keeping what I think a secret, nor will I ever. Don't like it? I don't care.

Play him is he is ready
Thankfully we have the depth on defense to compensate for Antoine’s MIA status, But get him out there if he’s 100%.

Play him if he is ready
That word “if” is important. Sorry for the typo.

Not to dampen the mood...
… But Seifert was on KFAN today saying he didn’t think Winfield looked like he’d be ready this week and the coaching staff was leaning toward resting him. Can’t say I disagree with the decision, honestly. We’ll need him healthy to make a deep playoff run. Plus, it can’t hurt to give the backups more experience for the future…

If he isn't 100%, then they should rest him
We need Winfield in Dec/Jan more than we need him against the Lions. Rest him til the Sea-ducks game, and go from there.
Remember we want these guys healthy next year too. There’s absolutely no reason to rush his recovery at this point of the season.
Sapp/Allen/Payma need all the experience they can get. They’ve had 2wks to prepare for this game, so they should be able to handle the Lions w/out Winfield.
Go Vikes!

agree with the masses
Bring him back when ready & not a minute before. I’ve said this before on here but I think we should use Tjack in the wildcat a few times a game, maybe even a series. Give the old man a few plays off in the 2nd half of the season. We are going to the playoffs & everybody knows it. We need to have as many people playing as possible in game situations.

I really miss watching him hurt people
no one gets up fast after getting hit by winfield but I suppose taking a game off against the Lions wouldnt be too bad
I would have a signature... but it could cause a schism on this site

Backups have actually played decent in his absence
"We Szekelys have a right to be proud, for in our veins flows the blood of many brave races who fought as the lion fights for lordship. Here, in the whirlpool of European races, the Ugric tribe bore down from Iceland the fighting spirit which Thor and Odin gave them, which their Berserkers displayed to such fell intent on the seaboards of Europe, ay, and of Asia and Africa too, till the peoples thought that the werewolves themselves had come."

If he is 100% play
If not, sit.
"We're used to Favre-a-palooza now. We're engulfed in Favre-a-palooza. It's not even Favre-a-palooza anymore. He's family now."
