11 Reasons for the Vikings to Beat the Cardinals on Sunday Night Football

Here are 11 reasons to get the win on Sunday night.

  1. Get the 11th win of the season and knock the defending NFC Champions off their throne.

  2. Guarantee a better record than last year (10-6). If the Minnesota Vikings win, the worst regular season record they could get would be 11-5.

  3. Improve the Vikings' road record (currently 4-1) against a Cardinals team that has not dominated at home (2-3 at home).

  4. Move closer to repeating as champions of the NFC North.

  5. Guarantee a lead in future playoff seeding over the Arizona Cardinals should the Vikings win the NFC North.

  6. Start the month of December with a win.

  7. Defeat a Cardinals team with a very good passing offense that will test the Vikings' pass defense. In the 2006 Cardinals-Vikings game, Matt Leinart was 31 of 51 for 405 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT. The Vikings won the game.

  8. Prove that it was no fluke that both the Vikings and Brett Favre beat the Cardinals last year.

The Vikings won their matchup with the Cardinals in 2008 as Tarvaris Jackson was 11 for 17, 163 yds, and 4 TD. Kurt Warner was 29 of 45, 270 yds, 1 TD, and 1 INT.

The New York Jets also beat the Cardinals last year as Favre was 24 for 34, 289 yds, 6 TD, and 1 INT. Kurt Warner was 40 for 57, 472 yds, 2 TD, and 3 INT.

  9. Defeat a Cardinals team with a very good defense that plays out of a 3-4 front.

  10. Beat a Cardinals team with stars and rising stars such as Kurt Warner, Matt Leinart, Levi Brown, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Tim Hightower, Chris "Beanie" Wells, Steve Breaston, Darnell Dockett, Chike Okeafor, Adrian Wilson, Antrel Rolle, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and LaRod Stephens-Howling.

  11. Stay in the hunt for the #1 seed in the NFC by getting another conference win and staying undefeated in the conference. The Vikings are currently 8-0 in the NFC.

might be easier

Warner is still experiencing concussion symptoms to the tune of blurred vision and the like. He is seeing a specialist this week and I doubt he plays if this doesn’t subside by Wed. or so.

13)

It is essentially a neutral field going by last year’s contest. One can only assume that the MN winter birds will be out in force even more given the current Vikings domminance.

!!!!

Man I remember watching that game though my friend (49er fan) told me we had it in the bag. A score, onside kick recovery, 4th n 26 TD bc of a stupid force out rule later, Im still bitter. Beat them down! Tjack can continue where he left off last yr, imagine what Favre is gonna do. I hope Warner is ok and plays. We need to get battle tested before January comes around.

Skol Vikings!!

Fair weather

Can’t complain about the warmer weather.. Maybe that may get the blood going in some of these players and they’ll perform well.

W/ a last second loss to the Titans, this team will either play its hearts out, or fail miserably. I hope for the ladder since they have struggled at home.

They are at the top of their own division at 7-4.. They have not had much for real competition.

Yes,

The Cardinals will be in near-desperation mode with the loss to the Titans. If the Cards lose to the Vikings, and the 49ers win, the Cards will need to beat the 49ers next week to keep the lead in the NFC West.

The Cards will be playing all out on Sunday.

Monday night

I think Brees may have taken an inusrmountable lead in that race last night

I don’t know about that.

If Favre stays on his current pace, he could easily overtake Brees so long as Brees doesnt stay on HIS current pace.

Like On the PTI Show

Question: Who should be MVP, Favre or Brees?

Well, I will have to go with Favre because Brees and the Saints major Improvement is their defense, and the Saints has already had an Explosive Offense with Brees! The Vikings didn’t have that dynamic offense we see this year before Favre arrived and he only has 3 Picks! Favre 3 picks the all time leader in picks! He has thrown 3 picks in games in his career and now that’s all he has on the season!

Why Do People Question The Vikings' Status?

by UnBannedVikingholic on Dec 1, 2009 9:41 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

No mention of Peyton eh?

I think if he continues to throw picks hes gonna fall rite off that throne.

MVP is irrelvant

Personally, I don’t want Favre to get MVP. There are way too many players on our team for ONE to be singled out as the reason why we are playing so well. I think Favre deserves a most valuable year in that he hasn’t lived up to his expectations of many interceptions. We are talking about a team that sent 5 pro-bowlers last year and easily could have been 7 (E.J. if not for injury and Greenway for his productivity) You add Brett who is playing at that level and you got a potential 8 pro-bowlers and a rookie of the year on their team. Yes, We had the best pick of the 2009 draft at number 22. Granted O-linemen get no respect, its nice to know we got the best skilled player out there.

I’m tired of people talking of how dominant the Saints are. Yes, they were impressivve on Monday night, but lets not forget how silly they looked against the Phins and the Bucs…yes..the BUCS. One thing I do love about the saints…Darren Sharper. I’m glad he will finish his career on a productive season, or 2, because he will want to come back after falling short this year ..hint..hint.

Cardinals Magnitude of Defeat Depends on Who Their QB Is

If it’s Leinart, the Vikings will likely go big on them.

If it’s Warner, the Vikings still win, but not as big a margin.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!

With all the 84 quotes flyin' around why not another

41 to donut is my prediction with Leinart in…and this time we don’t have the donut!!!

Bears vs. Vikings Tickets - $150
Beer and food for 24 tailgate bus trip - More than $150

Warner is probably going to start

Warner’s agent expects him to start tonight. This should be a good test for the Vikings defense.
