My 2009 Vikings Highlight Video

A little background info... A few weeks ago I started working on sort of a documentary of the Vikings 2009 season. I started with the signing of Brett Favre and put that together. In the mean time I was also working on a highlight video. I ended up just combining the two videos, which Windows Movie Maker somehow managed to mess up (You'll notice a distinct pause between the two... and for some reason I couldn't fix it).

Why am I posting this here? Well, after last weeks beat down by the Cardinals and the loss of EJ, the mood around here wasn't exactly cheery. I won't mention any names, but the pessimistic fans on here that made it seem like it was the end of the season after that loss just bug the living sh*t out of me. Seriously, cheer up... we are 10-2, well ahead in the NFC North and the second place Packers don't have a prayer of catching up to us.

2009 has been a great season so far. Out of all the years I've been a Vikings fan, this year is certainly at the top of my list of best seasons.

So now for your viewing pleasure... and please be kind (it's the first one I've put together)... a highlight video of the 2009 season, along with a cool intro on Brett Favre.

Make sure you click on the HQ button to watch the video in HD!!!

I hope this gets you pumped for Sunday!

If you watched the video, let me know what you think!

That was a pretty good video. You’re right about the SD/HD thing—the playback was a little halting at times.

The music though, was, um, not good.

Do you have any links to other music that you think would fit?

I had a tough time picking out the music for the highlights, but everyones taste is different.

I’m thinking of making another one. I certainly have plenty more highlight clips on my PC to put together another one.

Music options

I would highly suggest something more orchestral and epic instead of amateur sounding rock music. Try bands like:
- Two Steps From Hell
- X-Ray Dog
- E.S. Posthumus

I know they sound weird, but seriously give them a listen before jumping to conclusions.

Also would be nice to incorporate some Paul Allen play-by-play.

Here’s a link to some of the type of music I’m talking about.

I don't know those bands

but orchestral and epic over amateur rock music is a good start. Paul Allen play-by-play would be great, too.

I tried that kind of music (orchestra) and I didn't like it much...

but Play-by-Play radio is sweet. The only problem is doing radio highlights doesn’t flow well between that many clips, music keeps on going smoothing out the transitions.

Enjoyed....

If this does not remind fans of what has been and what can be…..NO HOPE!

Personally, I have seen what can be the whole time….one bad game be damned!

Thanks for putting together!

SKOL!

Is it Sunday yet?

I would rather be IN the Arena than watching from the stands...That is my life!

That's what I was hoping for!

I’ve got about 2 hours worth of highlights on my PC… too bad I had to cut it down to 10 min for youtube.

I’m glad you liked it R4F. I have to admit, you gave me some of the inspiration for what I was working on for the Brett Favre into.

If I get the time I’m going to try and finish the 2009 documentary of the season I’m working on. I already have quite a few videos of player and coach interviews.

Nice video! (HD, too)

Very cool video-audio combination here.

It is in HD format. You can watch in HD by clicking the “HD” button on the bottom of the video. If the HD button is red, it’s in HD.

If you don’t see the HD button, upgrade your Flash Player here:

I didn't know that...

Thanks… it’s so much better in HD!

I’ll have to see if I can set that to the default on youtube…

Dude

This video was freaking sweet. Seriously. Did you include the monster run of Adrian from week 1? I didn’t see it. Oh well, overall. Kick ass.

No I didn't... thats one of the highlights that I cut

The 10 minute time limit on youtube videos made me cut quite a few others I wanted to include. The original length (before I started cutting stuff out) of the video on my PC is about 30 minutes long.

I’m glad you liked it!
