Around SBN: VIDEO: Austin Rivers' Buzzer Beater Finishes Off UNC

Say What?

The #1 scoring defense in the NFL will shut down AP and Favre and we'll run wild on your OVERRATED defense. Look at the mutual opponents our teams have played and you'll shut your mouth. The Bengals deserve all of the accolades they're getting.

Bengals D is licking their chops. Freewheelin Favre and a busted up Vikes O-line. Not to mentioned the D is decimated by injuries. Cincy should take it to them Sunday. The Bengals are by far the more physical team in this matchup.

espn bengal fans classy guys

I'd call the ESPN forums cesspools

But, really, that would be degrading to cesspools.

Agreed

I’ve been all over the internet sports forums and this is clearly the place to be. Best fans bar none regardless of team.

Correct

We really don’t want to start a precedent of going around and finding stupid comments on other forums then posting them here. One, we’d be flooded with internet sewage in an instant. Two, the reason I’m here and not on another forum is because I don’t want to read other idiots drunken ramblings. I’d prefer to stick with MY idiots drunken rambling.

A good coach makes his team better, he doesn’t wait for a better team to make him look good.

I like the fact that if you give Bengals fans just a LITTLE bit to root for, suddenly they are talking shit all over the Internet like their team was always amazing or something.

Agreed, ignore it

Why is it even worth paying attention to, let alone reposting & commenting on.

I hate to admit it, but they have some fair points

1) The Vikings’ run D does appear to be overrated. Take Tim Hightower, for example. He had never averaged over 8.0 ypc in 27 career games before carrying 6x for 50 yds vs. the Vikes. He had only gained 50+ yds in a game 5x in 27 career games before last week. The Vikes did manage to contain the rookie Chris Wells, though.

2) The Bengals have one of the best records in the NFL while playing in one of the most competitive divisions. They are better than the Cards, 49ers, Steelers, Ravens and certainly better than the Packers. In the 6 games played against those teams, the Vikes were effectively 1-2-3. Anyone who thinks that the Vikings are going to roll the Bengals is delusional. Give the Bengals the respect that they deserve. They will be tough.

3) The #1 scoring D in the NFL could be brutal if they can get the most fumble-prone RB in the game to cough up 1 or more plus any forced Favre errors plus guys like Shank and BB who like to catch with their bodies and deflect a few. We should be respectfully afraid.

On the other hand, the Vikes are capable of playing better than they did last week, and the Bengals should take that very seriously as well.

Naaah

They are built to run the ball and Carson has turned into a game manager. This isn’t the type of team to give you any worries. Facing a team with a dynamic passing attack like the Cards or Saints is what I’d be worried about. If you stop the running game, you stop the bengals, and I know you aren’t as dominant vs the run as you used to be, but you are still prety damn good. I predict a 17-13 Vikings win.

Stopping the run is key

The Vikes rank 3rd in Run-D, but not having T.Johnson, EJ, and maybe even Winfield changes things a bit. The Vikes will be okay if Winfield plays, but EJ and Winfield are their best tacklers, and I don’t like the Vikings chances with both of them missing.
