Dallas will beat Saints

(yes this belongs in this post, b/c any saints loss bodes well for vikes..)

One well-known sports-bookie once said, when absolutely everyone seems to be betting one side..it may be well worth the gamble to take the other.. not that this is about betting, per se.. but i cant believe how every single analyst i've heard over the weekend gives the (still respectable 8-5) cowboys ABSOLUTELY no chance vs the saints.. all due to their infamous December woes.. they were very competetive in their SD loss last week (as well as in other tight losses this year) and i , for one (and apparantly the only one), think the cowboys actually have a GOOD chance to beat the continually-stepping-in-s**t saints..

so i am hereby not merely saying 'take the cowboys and the points'..but rather picking the 'boys to win outright..

have i totally lost my mind???

Since the Saints need to lose 2 for this to even matter.....

I hope the Saints win out. Just like we had our “Arizona” moment. We regrouped and got it together. Looking forward to the Saints having their “Arizona” moment in the NFC championship. A loss for the Saints would be a wake up call a month or so too soon.

I like that take.

A good coach makes his team better, he doesn’t wait for a better team to make him look good.

Good take....

agree…lull those dudes…

The Boys...

Have as good of chance to beat the Saints as the woeful Redskins and the Ryanless-Turnerless Falcons had going into those weeks. If you out physical them, you could be in it.

The Cowboys do kind of suck though.

Im with you on this one...

The Cowboys need to make a statement about their team… right about now.
If they are serious playoff contenders, then this is the week and the team to beat.

The Vikings and the Saints both have 3 NFC games remaining on their schedule…
I would like to see the Vikings begin a demonstration of how to dominate in the conference and ride that energy into the playoffs. Conversely, I’d like to see this stretch for the Saints go the other way… where the lucky horseshoe finally falls out of Brees’ butt and the ‘magic’ goes away… and they stumble and slide their way into the post-season for a 1 and out performance.
All it takes is that first loss to really see how resiliant a team is. Do they re-group and dominate, or do the crumble?

These things happen.

GO VIKES!!

I BELIEVE...

The Saints Play REAL Well at Home...

and not so well on the road, barely beating the Redskins, Falcons and Dolphins – their only lopsided road win was against Tampa Bay, as I recall.
Anything can happen in football, but it’s HIGHLY unlikely the Cowboys can beat the Saints at home this Saturday. If the Saints lose this year, it’ll most likely be in their final game – on the road – against the Carolina Panthers, a team they’ve had difficulty with in the past.

The boys...

They could lose to Carolina and the "boys…giving us homefile if we win out.
It could happen…stuff happens that is amazing.

Lost your mind?

Yes and No

I would say the Cowboys have almost no chance of winning, thats the part that say’s yes, you’re happily insane…..

However…..

This is the same Saints team that had to go into overtime to beat an anemic Redskins team, and that was only because they had a crap kicker who they just cut. Also, they could only muster a field goal to beat the Falcons in the 4th Q.

So, yes, it is possible given one team by far worse then Dallas almost beat them and a team on par took them to almost the end of the game. Chinks in the armor? Who knows. I doubt they will implode at this point given my earlier assessment, but don’t see them going undefeated as well. But if we do play them in the playoffs, we do hold a nice advantage over the Saints. 2-0 against them by a total of 78-26, so definitely something to hope for and keep in mind. ;-)

I tried this last week.
…when absolutely everyone seems to be betting one side..it may be well worth the gamble to take the other.

I picked the Cowboys over the red-hot Chargers last week, and that didn’t turn out so well.

On further review

The Saints are overrated. The Cowboys have a lot of weapons that will match up well with the Saints. Roy Williams and Miles Austin can do damage. Tony Romo is the most talented healthy quarterback the Saints have faced all year. (Tom Brady is playing injured this year.) The Saints are talking about their perfect season like it’s already decided. I’m going out on a limb and predicting that the Cowboys shock the Saints.

I wouldn’t say the cowboys have no chance either, but … seriously … you would take them in a bet?

too bad there is no way to make enforceable bets on the internet (those pesky gambling laws!) Because if you seriously want to take Dallas over NO, in the Superdome, I would take that bet in heartbeat! It’s not a slam dunk, no, but, yes, I think it’s a prudent bet 9and yours is not)

p.s. either way i hope dallas does lose

because I am looking forward to beating perfect season teams in both NFC Championship and the Superbowl!

Go Saints!

Go Colts!

hmmmm...

I would much rather have the dome-field advantage – so all of the MN fans can be at the game – 12th player and all!
IF that’s going to happen, then the Saints need to lose.

I BELIEVE...

Meh Dallas could win

but as someone said earlier I wouldn’t bet my house. Hell I wouldn’t even bet my dog’s house. Or that bratty little kid down the streets scooter. Well I might bet that…

I would love for Dallas to prove me wrong but...

I really don’t see them winning this game. The Saints play outstanding at home and Dallas is down in the dumps after losing two straight.

by EasternVike on Dec 16, 2009 6:47 PM CST reply actions

Brees is the one who makes up for Saints weaknesses...

I agree with earlier comment about the preference for the Saints NOT having an Arizona moment…it is true, most teams play better AFTER a loss…I don’t think the Vikes will catch them for number one seed. HOWEVER, if we play them in SuperDome which we will if we get past 2nd round..they can be had when Brees cannot get them out of a ditch…most of the time when they have a let down on offense or defense…he is the one that gets them back in the game..Vikes have more weapons than Saints and are less reliant on QB when AP and D play well.. I say let’s beat Brees with our best D game of the year cause that is what it will take…our Offense will be fine we can put the numbers up..it is all about stopping Drew Brees who is pretty incredible..SKOL.

Cowboys don't beat winning teams

If you look at the Boys, Pittsburgh, Green Bay Jags you see that wildcard contenders don’t often beat winning football teams. They are better than the bottom half but not legitimate winning teams. The Saints beat Everyone because they are a complete football team.
Could the Boys win? Sure. Is it likely? NO!
This game is being played in the Dome. The Cowboys are showing no signs of improvement. Take the Saints and give the points.
