Dallas Wins!!!! Dallas Wins!!!! Dallas Wins!!!!
But, what does it mean? I'm actually split on this. While it brings the Saints off of cloud 9, what now? Could they come apart? Do they finish out at 15-1? Does that mean we are back in the hunt for home field in the playoffs? While the Saints may finally have been brought down, the thing that worries me now is the Saints doing similar to what we have done in our two losses.........learn and adjusted. I would still have the Saints finish the season 15-1, tho rather 16-0 thinking they were untouchable, much like what happened to us in 1998. But being this late in the season, how do they take this? I still think head to head, we have a more balanced team, but we know now, the Saints aren't "untouchable". Do they make the necessary adjustments going into the playoffs? Do they have the personnel to make adjustments? Do they come apart and hand us home field? Do we even want home field or rather have the Vikes kept on their toes? What is everyone's take?
Ive updated this a few times to flow a little better as I slapped this post together as the game was ending. A few of you may have noticed the changes.

Saints defense...
..Looks weak. It’s clear they need Greer back. Their defensive coordinator is pretty pressure happy, and nearly everytime they blitzed they got beat because of guys giving WR’s 5-8 yard cushions. Anybody else notice that Romo could throw a quick pass out to one of his WR’s and the Saints were basically giving them 5-7 yards? I hate when Cb’s give huge cushions.
The Saints looked untouchable for the first half of the season but they certainly haven’t the last few weeks. Their offense is pretty darn good and can score in a matter of minutes at anytime but their defense has looked just average as of late.
Their defense looked below average tonight
they’ve looked more and more human with every passing week, this was only a matter of time

Yeah
They did hold what’s probably a top 5 offense to 24 points, but that’s not really impressive by any means.

They also held
The Falcons minus their starting QB and RB to 23.
The Redskins to 30.
The Rams to 23.
Stunning defensive performances, all.

I hate when they give huge cushions as well...
We got pretty accustomed to being hammered on quick slants and quick passes thanks to our 30 yard cushions when Ced Grif was a rookie/2nd year… Not everyone has 2 studs like GB to hammer recievers at the line… but you also can’t be good with recievers AND runningbacks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqs24InfI7g ;)

The Vikes need to keep the pedal to the metal.
No sitting starters until we are eliminated from contention for home field throughout the playoffs. It is that important.
Their defense is not that great
Before tonight, their defense was ranked 20th overall in yardage. They missed Sedrick Ellis in the middle tonight. The Cowboys ran all over them.
The Saints are beatable. Now everybody can see it.
I have to say that was very satisfying seeing that arrogant Saints team take the loss.
The only game that matters though is Vikings vs. Panthers tomorrow night.
Yes....
They are beatable, whatever happens happens regarding seed, think we focus on beating Panthers tomorrow…..we knew this about NO so it changes nothing in these regards (beatable and need win against Panthers)…
As a side note….I would like to have the #1 seed for us, but think either 1 or 2 is ok, and we can beat anyone with our A game and many current/coming Pro-Bowl players, whichever we take!

truth!
but it would be good to see the Saints begin a tumble with this loss… lose HFA, go into the playoffs with doubt.

Their run defense was porous
and pass coverage was plain bad. Sharper is no longer the ballhawk he was in the beginning of they year; he is now reacting to what unfolds around him, and Mike McKenzie remebered he was the Mike McKenzie who got cut.
Do they have the personnel to make the required adjustments? Sure they do, but now that the blueprint to beat them is on film, we’ll see what happens. I’m not saying the Saints are paper tigers, but they’ve won several games on pure luck, and if it comes down to a post-season game, I think the Vikings match up extremely well.
But man, they’ve gotten so many breaks this year. I mean, how many times can you remember kickers in successive weeks miss chip shot field goals to ice the game? I really thought the Saints were going to tie it after Folk doinked it.
This might affect the Saints in a bad way as they were up front about going undefeated. Plus they lost at home, so who knows how they react?
And now, homefield is back in play, at least theoretically, and when it comes down to it, it’s better to play at home than on the road.

How many times will a receiver flat out take the ball from a defender's hands
and score a touchdown? They went from god-like to human to fluky, and now they lost, like I said earlier, it was only a matter of time

I couldn't believe that guy clanked that FG
My initial thought was ahhhh… Ryan Longwell. Millen was funny: “you’ve got to be kidding me.”
Cowboys won the clock game!
managed long time-consuming drives and gave the Saints fewer chances to score.
also… Brees got pressured alot and that seemed to rattle him.
I BELIEVE...

Hmmm, and who does that sound like...
The Vikings excel at clock management with Favre at the helm. :)

on aints loss
compliments out to n.o. they lost 10 or more to ir and still roll. oops the old vets and lack of depth creeps in and confidence along with it. was i the only one to see payton n brees forgeting to focus on 1 at a time.n.o. defence is weak. their pressured off. is obviously 1 dim. this loss means a lot. know we can focus on destroying one undefeated in the big 1. reminder of pre season.the no.4, 4 plays 4 hits on peyton. 2 sacks, incomplete pass and pass for -2. that’s the preview for feb.
Just saw the thread and wanted to join in

lol
We got Aussie_Cowboy toour Aussie_Viking, I like it! Thanks for beating them, just hope they (Saints) don’t get inspired after this loss. But now that it’s been shown that good D and mistake free O shuts them down, this looks better for us. Perhaps see you guys in the playoffs to add to our colorful playoff history between us!

Take this as a compliment
I would prefer to face the Saints again than you guys. IMO the Vikings are the 2nd best team in the NFC (Behind the Cowboys of course).

Its the NFL
Oakland beats Philly
Arizona beats the Vikes
Dallas beats the Saints
welcome to the NFL. This game might mean that the Saints are vulnerable at home. It might mean that the “Boys” are back and ready for the playoffs. It could mean a lot of things.
All I know is that in the NFL every team that makes the playoffs are winners. There are no easy games. So the Vikes have to keep improving that run game and play every snap as hard as they can.
I’m just glad we have a playoff experienced QB to lead us. If the Saints can lose so can anybody else. Lets get strong out there.
SKOAL
It also means...
that the key to winning is getting off to a fast start. Their offense isn’t nearly as balanced when all they do is throw.
Also it means that you can’t sit comfortably on a lead, you have to playing the way you were to get there.
That was a fun game to watch.............
and now I’m not as worried as before about the possibility of playing at the superdome. If we get there, the vikes can beat them.
