Christmas Dissapointments
Has anyone else noticed that every year the Vikings lose an important game before, or on Christmas day. They have lost their last six.
2004-Lose to the Packers on Christmas Eve in a game that decides the NFC North.
2005-Lose to a Ravens team on Christmas night that had nothing to play for, meanwhile it knocked the Vikings out of playoff contention.
2006-Lose to the Packers on Thursday Night in a game that knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs. Had the Vikings won all they would've had to do was beat the Rams to secure a spot.
2007-Lose to the Redskins in a game that sent the winner to the playoffs, and the loser home.
2008-Lose to the Falcons when the Vikings could have clinched their first division title since 2000.
2009-Lose to the 5-8 Panthers throwing out all chance of home field and bringing the Eagles right back into contention for a first round bye. We all know that with Brett with at QB no bye means bye bye.
Can't we get a truly merry Christmas for once?

Tough decision
Had to go with the 2006 Packers..it always sickens me to death when we lose to the Packers…especially when it knocks us outta the playoffs
They all hurt....
But Packer loss has to sting most of all….
At least THAT cannot happen this year!
If we went 14-2 as long as those two Ws were against the packers I could live with it!
We will survive/thrive as long as we get our heads out of our a#@es!
Let’s hope they do this….They have to prove this to their competition, to us fans, and most important of all, to themselves!
Let’s see….sigh……

2-14?
My dad sais that every year. :) Unless we play the cowgirls then he wants us to go 3-13

Not really
We all know that with Brett with at QB no bye means bye bye.
A bye would be nice, but I’m not sure it’s quite that clear cut
A good coach makes his team better, he doesn’t wait for a better team to make him look good.
None of the Above
Christmas 1975. Never forget it. I got a rock for Christmas & one of the refs got a whiskey bottle.
See how long this has been going on folks????
I see a pattern. Ouch.
I hear you, man.... I hear you....
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!
having season tickets from 00' - 05' and being that I was 14.
I cried walking outta the stadium after losing by a field goal to the Pack on chirstmas eve 2004. True story. ask my mom :(
...add #4 to the mix and see what you get... Championship.
Those packer losses hurt most
I randomly picked ‘04 instead of ’06. The Redskins kicking us out of the playoffs in ’07 was also rather painful. This year might hurt right now, but in the big scheme of things isn’t as bad a those three.
Interesting Trend
Thanks for posting this. As Madden used to say, you can say it’s not a thing, but if it keeps happening, at some point it becomes a thing.
I think we have a thing.
Funny
I love worthless statistics. This is an incredibly worthless stat because the goal changes each time.
2009 the Vikings lose a game which does not affect the division title and does not lose their advantage for the Bye week.
Lets be real. In a 16 game season each game is highly important to the race for the playoffs. Phillip Rivers has won every game he started in December. Has that gotten them to the Superbowl? Great Stat but worthless. Its Christmas. Be a little jolly. Were the 2nd best team in the NFC. Merry Christmas.
I voted for the Redskins
Because I was at the Dome for that game. Just a terrible game all around just when the Vikings were showing some signs of life. Kind of like this past Sunday night…
