If Someone Offers Me a Joke, I just say No Thanks

Perhaps a better song to open with would be Lindsay Buckingham's amazing "I know I'm not wrong", but I don't know that. What I do know is that I am a Milwaukee Brewer Fan 1st, a Brett Favre fan 2nd and a fan of women/mind altering substances 3rd. The Vikings are a close 4th and the Packers a 5th or 6th and slipping further away than a crazy ex-girlfriend.

That offerred, I want to clarify a bit from my last post, "Favre Looks Done...". I wish no ill upon Brett, Vikings or fans of either. I actually wrote the post as an exercise in therapy, since no one here in Milwaukee wants to hear me cry about my favorite QB and my new favorite NFL team. I already wore the purple #4 jersey to Miller Park this fall, and after fielding several hundred suggestions to go do various (anatomically impossible) things to myself, I decided to wear it less conspicuously.  However, my enjoyment of Brett's style of play and my hope for a Super Bowl victory for him and the Vikings is real.

What am I trying to say? Ok, I admit that I wanted to have it in writing that I could see all the signs of Brett losing steam, interest (can we play the Packers again?), focus and arm strength. It was clear to me that he has (temporarily) lost the ability to make more positive than negative plays. It's been happening since 1992, though it used to just last for one game. He rarely (if ever) could turn it around mid-game. You saw enough of his failures in the Dome to know what I am talking about. The odd thing now is that, unlike in past years where he'd just suck in Dallas or wherever for one game, it appears that when the slide occurs, it is multi-game. I hope he rediscovers his mojo. I hope that his playoff performance is like vs. Seattle, circa 2008 in the snow.

And to be completely honest, I think the only way that happens is if the Vikings receive another visit from those Lambeau lepers (I mean leapers). Maybe then, and only then, the high plains drifter will allow himself to resurface.

Another song lyric to tie it up: "Guess that's all I had to say...except the feeling just grows stronger...everyday."

Thanks for the open forum known as the internet. Take it easy.

Didn't see anything wrong with your last post

or this one for that matter. They were your thoughts/opinions and just because they weren’t popular with the masses people decided they were going to lynch you for lack of a better term. You have the right to speak your mind just like everyone else and if they don’t like what you’re thinking, oh well, that’s their problem.

Hard to blame Favre only on this one

O-line- F

Running Back- F minus

WRs- Several F’s

TEs- F, aside from Sasser ( WHY DIDNT THEY USE HIM TO HELP WITH PEPPERS??!?!?!?!)

D-line- C
LBs- D
Corners- D minus (‘Toine looked like he was on a slip n’ slide all night for some reason)
Safeties- Why in the hell isn’t Jamarca Sanford playing over T. Johnson. I’ve seen enough of T Johnson thanks.

Just an all-around piss poor effort. Our team is simply soft and cannot get up to face some cold weather and a sloppy field. We are like the Ferrari that was placed in a bog race against an old beat up Jeep. The Jeep won.

That could also be the grades for the Cards game.

When we protect Favre… B.E.A.utiful! If we can’t block, and I mean, ‘Can Not stop a F’in THING!’ we are Turrible.

...add #4 to the mix and see what you get... Championship.

You could say that about pretty much every team..

The way things are looking

We could see a #6 seed Green Bay travel to #3 Minnesota in the FIRST ROUND

I'd love to beat GB a 3rd time in 1 season!

That would be awesome!

Now now. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Our remaining schedule is alot easier than the Eagles. They have to take on the ‘Boys (If I’m not mistaken) and Denver yet, while we just need to beat either the Bears or Giants. Unless we drop one of those, we have the 2nd seed sewn up.

Very good ? .. Why did we not use Kleinsasser to help out against Peppers.. Cause Chilly is a terrible coach…

by WVVikings on Dec 21, 2009 11:35 AM CST reply actions

Didn't you hear?

Chilly is the greatest coach ever because, apparently, he produced all the talent on this team singlehandedly and deserved that extension.

Don’t worry, Christmas Eve is coming soon, I’m sure he’ll cut one of our best players to “send a message” to the team. Competence is not tolerated in the K.A.O.!

A good coach makes his team better, he doesn’t wait for a better team to make him look good.

I hate the Fudge Packers

but right now. The prospect of a 3rd game with GB worries me. Actually the prospect of not getting a 1st round bye and playing team that has been working hard to make the playoffs is scary.
I agree with WV. Other teams double up JA with their TE. Not our coaches. We’re too stupid/or afraid to make adjustments during a game.

This is still a good team

I just hate to see another year go to waste. We have players getting older. We are actually filling holes with young guys now. A rookie center (biggest surprise) Sully is doing admirable. Load looks like a rookie Tackle and as I stated months ago OT is a position that take smore smarts than folks realize. He is 2 years from learning most of what he need. Jasper is not the answer right now. the experience is good, but not on a team shooting for a Super Bowl. Harvin, bless his heart, is a great addition. Bu the is fighting migranes from a bulging disk.
Again. Can this team make some late additions and scheme adjustments before it tis too late.

by CitrusFLViking on Dec 21, 2009 11:43 AM CST reply actions

And that is the problem with this team

For all of the talent that Chilly has put together, if you find a way to stick around them long enough, you WILL out coach Childress.

Sorry...

We needed one or the other last night and got neither. If one part of the game clicked it may have been a win.
