Watching games w/ "friends & family" --rather not
Last Sunday was just the latest example.. there were at least 5 instances when I just stood up and let out a flurry of expletives at high volume.. and in the second half, actually had to turn to a college game on espn to 'cool-down' a bit.. My wife has already suggested i never watch vikes games of any importance w/ "people around".. esp after downing a few teddybrewskis..
Just curious if I am the only one that makes their family /friends (who aren't true fans) flee the family room after a terrible vikes play ?

I am right there with ya man.
My family watched the Arizona and Carolina game with me and I got incredibly pissed off. Mostly at their negativity as “fans” toward the Vikings. “The Vikings are terrible” Blah blah blah. I don’t want to hear it. If you’re only watching this year because the Vikings are actually good…I don’t want to watch the game with you.

My family hates me
bro, you and I live in a parallel TV universe. I had to turn the game off early in the 2nd half to save my marriage, & not teach my children how to be a loud mouthed, ticked off, cursing, staggering idiot.
This team drives me nuts & I cant contain myself when they implode on TV.
I’ve officially LOST IT.

Watch Vikings regardless if we do good or bad...
BUT hate to see Chilly coach this team…And we are stuck with this idiot for another 4 yrs or more….

Haha - great post
I am a pretty even tempered guy BUT I threw a pillow at the big screen when the refs called Ray Edwards for roughing the passer against Detroit…to which my fiancĂ© responded, “this is why I don’t watch football with you” and left the room.

Right there with you
My wife, children and dog hate to be in the same house with me during a Viking game. In the past some games have caused the need for drywall repair and electronics replacement. Now since I have found this site my favorite way to watch a game is by myself with the Daily Norseman pulled up on the computer and a cooler of beer by my side.
PS, my wife told me she would get me a hotel room and set aside bail money if they make it to the SB. A smart lady in my book.

I for one, am very glad my family was out of town on Sunday. I was drinking and cussing loud enough that my neighbor (pack fan) came over to taunt me.

Ha!
I used to be you…
I still get a WIDE BERTH when the Vikings come on.
But I refuse to let my disappointment get me ‘frothing’ again.
I still clap and cheer loudly when the do well… and give a growl when they suck.
SKOL!
I BELIEVE...

Being 24 yrs old
I find the majority of my games are spent tossing a few back, maybe smoking a little bit and screaming at the TV while my roommates who don’t watch football yell out phrases such as “FOOTBALL!” and “BRETT FAVRE!!!” What do you expect from roommates who are from Seattle and Detroit?

do they really yell "FOOTBALL!" when you watch a vikes game???
…do they also yell ’HOPS!!" when you drink a beer?

I like to watch with only Vikings fans because they understand WHY I curse/swear/throw stuff/ temporarily change channel on emergency basis at will! It can be nice to commiserate with fellow fans.

I'm alright, actually
cuz my dad’s in the same boat. Both of us are the type that scream at the television when things go wrong. Can’t say the same for any of the other family/friends, though. They just don’t get it.

We have some Berserk Viking fans
I try to avoid watching with non-football fans, but don’t stream foul language, get plastered, or throw stuff. The part that dives me nuts is when someone starts talking about something totally non-football related in the middle of a key play.

lol
maybe you should try to reverse it…. next time your at Jamie’s recital, during the finale, you tell her, “can you believe longwell missed that 39 yarder?”

Only Rabid fans allowed
I have some Steeler friends that are almost as bad as I am so we try to watch the games together, that way we know there will be no running from the room or judgment based on what is said or cursed. It seems to work pretty well. I have been blessed with a wife that is just as insane as I am so we scream and swear like sailors together BTW she is not you typical fan she is a size 2 and curvy). I keep telling my son when it comes to a wife CHOOSE WELL
