Saints go Down
Okay, so the Saints just lost in OT to the Bucs. That means it is still possible for us to steal the #1 spot. I'd say its not likely to happen, but I didn't imagine the Saints would lose to the Bucs either and they just did. If they lose next week again somehow, and we win our next two, that would give us the #1 seed! If only we hadn't lost to Carolina. But we aren't the only ones having trouble with them. They're smearing the Giants too. Maybe they're a better team than we thought?

Considering how much we thought last weeks game would be a slam dunk...
I sure as hell hope we take care of business tomorrow in Chicago. Then I believe anything can happen because the Panthers could definitely take it to the Saints next week while we hopefully take beat G-Men.
And who are we going to be cheering next week to beat the Saints?
The Carolina Panthers, go figure.
Look at it this way
I’d rather root for the Panthers then have to root for the Packers or Bears.

And when the Saints, Go marching down...
Catch song, that.
:)
Seriously though… all of this goes to show that no game can be taken for granted, not by the Vikings and not by the Saints.

and I got slammed...
in other threads by saying that the Panthers took away our running game last week.
well… they did the same thing to the Giants this week.
guess I’m still a stupid homer…

Yeah, read that too
What bothered me is that the only ‘solution’ they had was that they have to focus on their ’technique", and McKinnie said his problem was that he started thinking….
Hard to know what to say to that.
They have tomorrow to redeem themselves, and show everyone that they deserve to have their contracts next year.

the ‘technique’ they employ is to win at the LOS and blow some holes open for AD.

Steve Smith is done
News just in. Steve Smith suffered a broken arm and is done for the year. Doh! Would have been nice to have him available to face the Saints. Facing that team when they’re hot is a all-hands-on-deck task. Hopefully Deangelo Willliams is back and they can just pound the rock against them to kill as much clock as possible.
the good news is...
now all of the ‘early’ tape is out the window…
whoever steps in to his spot is a wildcard and could be the difference maker.
tough to gameplan for an relatively unknown player/position.
I BELIEVE...

Ya, cause Matt Moore throwing to anybody other than Steve Smith is absolutely terrifying to gameplan against.
Haha
I don’t think the 3rd string guy will be all that difficult to plan for. I think if they beat em’ they’ll do it with Stewart. That guy is a beast of a Rb.
I hate to say it, but seeing as how the Saints have looked these past few weeks it doesn’t seem like they’ll do anything in the playoffs. Whatever offenses have wanted to do against their defense they have done. The Redskins passed all over them and the Bucs ran all over them. Their defense has been steadily progressing and it really doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. They lost their two orginal starting Cb’s but their decline in play has come after both of them went out. Just weird to me I guess.

I dunno. The 3rd string QB has 7 TDs, iirc, and no Ints these last 2 games against playoff teams. Amazing what a different team Carolina is when they aren’t turning the ball over multiple times a game.
Yeah
They have some talented guys with Smith, the 2 Rb’s, their OTs (though I think their both out), Peppers, Beasons, Davis (who is out), and their secondary. Delhomme throwing 3 or 4 picks every week obviously killed them.

Oops
I meant the defense has been steadily degressing not progressing.

That is absolutely hilarious.
