It's been less than 12hrs since game's end, very little sleep, and STILL a whole lot of angry frustration within myself. My beloved Vikings once again showed why being a Vikes fan can be so EXTREMELY frustrating. It was certainly a tale of 2 halves last night. Did anyone else have the same feeling that in the 1st half we were watching a offense of last year? Tavariscarried out the same game plan last year. A couple of runs, and then a short pass that had no chance. I bet that was a direct result of last week's spat between Favre & Childress. It looked an awful lot like Childress' play-calling from last year. I guess he wanted to show who's boss IMO. However, last night was not the offense's fault. (except the peterson fumble) Although i'm sure that there are quite a few calling for the special team's coaches head today, last night was somewhat of a abnormalityfor this year. They had been pretty solid this year. However, the same can not be said for the defense. As much as it pains me to put the blame on the guys up front, i have to give them ALOT of it. Once again they were nowhere to be found playing against another inferior o-line. WHERE IS THE PRESSURE? Cutler could have made a sandwich back there and had a cup of tea. That of course creates the need for our d-backs to do some effective covering, which they seem not to be able to do. How often have we seen Griffin outplay Winfield? I'm not sure that Antoine is fully recovered, or if he has lost a step. (maybe 2) Unfortunately, i think i remember the Vikings having just resigned Madiue Williams to a new contract before the season began, so we are stuck with him. That being said, can someone PLEASE teach him how to play the position, & more importantly- TACKLE!!!
All is not lost though. Seeing our offense liven up and score 30 points in a half, shows we can still do it. Hopefully we have some momentum going from that. Our defense needs to step up this week against he Giants and plant Manning on his rear OFTEN. Thanks for letting me rant and vent. GO VIKES!!!
