PrintAction-packed first quarter thus far, as the Vikings and Cardinals have each put up a touchdown to give us a 7-7 tie after the opening stanza.
Minnesota's TD came on a 3-yard pass from Brett Favre to Visanthe Shiancoe, and Arizona scored on a 2-yard pass from Kurt Warner to Anquan Boldin after a huge Steve Breaston punt return.

Hence, it should have been a fumble. At the very least, it should have been intentional grounding, but not even that got called.

I hate to say it but I think this game is nearly over, already. You just can’t go down by 2 TDs in an away game against a strong passing team like this. And our biggest fears are hereby realized – our secondary still sucks big-time. Here I was trumpeting how easily it looked like we’d handle the Saints after seeing them today but wow, we look horrible.
I’m stepping away for a while – I’ve had a hugely stressful day today and so of course the Vikes choose this game to suck. Gotta take a break before I have a heart-attack or something. Sigh. \:( \:(

Leslie Frazier is going to get a head coaching job somewhere? Seriously? I think we’re going to have him next year.
Figure it out, Frazier. Something has to change. The Vikings need to linebacker-blitz Warner to get him out of the zone he’s in. The linebacker blitzing needs to get there.
I think much of tonight's poor performance
falls on the coaches. Not all. But adjustments need to be made.
And the Vikings are revealing that we may have believed in them a BIT too much.
So I suspect that we’ve been lured into the classic Vikings trap – get sucked into believing that they’re better than they are with the help of a slightly easier schedule and 3 Home games against easy teams. :(
I’ve never fully committed this season to believing we can put away these somewhat upper tier teams and what I’ve seen so far gives me no more reason to change my mind on that. :(
I’m going to have to watch this game a bit less closely lest I have a coronary. Sigh.
Well...
There are still 2 types of Vikings fans these days. The wild-eyed “I want to believe” supporters (nothing wrong with them, they’re awful encouraging to be around) AND the extremely skeptical, weary Vikings fans who have watched them consistently play games like this. For those of us in the latter, and I have to admit I tend to fall into that category still, it’s hard to have a lot of faith until we see some positive things going on. We’re definitely the Doubting Thomases of the Viking fan-world.

Cards are proving if you beat JA, you beat the Dline, which means you’ll torch the lame secondary. And 2, if your coach doesn’t see within 2 series that your guys aren’t open deep, and your quarteback is under pressure – it’s time to go to quick passes over the middle. Where is Harvin? Haven’t seen a pass to him yet.
They haven’t gotten crap up the middle running the ball- yards come from pitching out to AD or hitting him w/ a pass beyond the line of scrimmage. We have won more games passing than running by far.

I agree…though we don’t always have to rely on Jared Allen – we should have other weapons that can get to the passer, too.
I’ve never been convinced (after seeing the Packer games) that our Secondary is anything more than an average secondary without Antoine Winfield – and even with him, we still get torched WAY too much. :(
