What about 85?

So it's still obvious that ocho cinco wants out of cincy and drew rosenhaus said yesterday that he's available for trade...even though he isn't just yet.  I know he's a bit of a mouth etc...but what big time WR isn't..right?  It sure would be fun to see a guy like Jeff Garcia handing off to AD or passing to berrian/johnson.  Who's with me?

Maybe I'm reaching right now...cause I highly doubt if chilly would ever even think about bringing a guy like chad in, but hey it's feb. and we're a little bored.

I want...

a non-headcase WR, but then again, what team doesn’t? If a WR isn’t a headcase, he wouldn’t be available in trades I guess. I’d prefer a washed up Holt over Chad any day.

Holt would be good

He is supposedly only worth a 3rd rounder and he could come back to play with a new promising team like the vikes. He is 32 which means he has a few years left for a wide receiver.

TJ "whosyourmomma"

is a FA this year, wouldn’t require a trade, and isn’t a locker room distraction. And I’m sure he would cost less than Chad Ocho-Cinco.

And also wants to join the Eagles

true

what WR wouldn’t want to join the eagles! They have been lacking a premier WR for too long now. Look what McNabb did with TO. Sure they lost the Superbowl, but at least they made it there. This Eagles team is no different than that one (except maybe a little older). But, this is a business, and If the Vikings were to offer more money for TJ, I’m sure he wouldn’t hesitate to come to Minnesota, cold weather and all. If the Vikings are looking at Cassel, I hope they lock him up before free agency begins. That way, any player considering coming here would know the Vikings have a QB in place. Every free agent knows MN is a great team, but not having a legit QB will give a lot of players pause.

Can't Blame 'Em

It’s pretty obvious at this point that the Vikes are going nowhere unless they fix the QB problem. You can have a world of talent everywhere else on the team, but without at least a decent, ‘mangerial’ QB, you’re headed for disappointment at the end of the year, not victory.

Unless he decides to pull a Kevin Curtis and sign with Philly despite all the money we throw at him.

good point

I knew TJ was a FA, but I’m pretty sure he’s the top WR in this years class. What about A. Bryant from TB to go along with their QB?

by jswen on Feb 12, 2009 5:26 PM CST reply actions

Bryant has a good chance of being franchised

since the Bucs have a ton of cap money. TJ will be the “show me the money” WR of this off season. Torry Holt is only a year older than TJ and could probably be picked up for a 3rd rounder and reasonable money.

ocho cinco oh no no!

we don’t need his distractions or gold teeth. I like the idea of Holt, then he could show Allison and Rice what it takes to be an NFL WR. Some veteran leadership on offense is what this team lacks in the skill positions.

holt would be nice

But I’d rather use those draft picks on a QB. TJ and Bryant wouldn’t require draft picks to get, and they’re younger and about the same talent wise. I wouldn’t mind seeing TJ in purple and gold next year. I think he is a blue collar type guy, who is exceptional over the middle on short and intermediate routes, which is what the Vikings and the WCO need.

jswen just hopes that Ocho Cinco and Childress get into an arguement during halftime so Ocho Cinco punches the guy.

by Frost on Feb 13, 2009 3:47 PM CST reply actions

that might not be too far off….although I’ve grown a little more patient with him after this season. Still not sure about his KAO though.
