Oooh Super Bowl Controversy!
Here's a great close-up shot of Santonio Holmes' feet while making the Super Bowl winning catch, courtesy of The Will Leitch Experience:
In this shot it obviously looks like Holmes' right foot is touching only the bottom of his left foot, not the ground!
CONSPIRACY!! THE CARDINALS WERE SCREWED! PITTSBURGH WON TWO SUPER BOWLS BECAUSE OF THE REFEREES!!
Or not, who knows. Of course this could be after he already had his foot down with the catch and he's on the way out of bounds, or it could even be before he made the catch--there's no way of knowing from this picture since it's only showing his feet and not the rest of him. Either way, I think it's a nice way to rile up the Cardinals fans. After the Nathan Poole Incident a few years back, it's the least I could do. (Yes, I'm still bitter.)

Well, how about this?

I think that pretty much settles it.
I was rooting for Arizona, but you gotta give the man what he’s due; that was an amazing freakin’ catch.

And if you're curious...
Here’s the blown up of what the zoom was taken from:

You can’t see if he has possession or not!

No...
But if my memory of the catch and it’s subsequent replays is correct, possession wasn’t ever really the issue, was it? It was mostly the catch itself…?

Well, to have a TD you need two feet in the endzone and possession. Its all well and good to have the two feet, but maybe he didn’t have possession at the time and didn’t get it until the original stillframe occured.
lol I’m not actually disputing the catch, I know it was a TD.

Other calls
It appears that he made a good catch and got both feet in, barely…although I don’t know if he had possesion at the very instant that he tipped both feet in. But what most Cards’ fans here in AZ are talking about is some of the other calls or noncalls that went against AZ. Some of the personal foul calls were borderline at best. And why the RUSH to the next plays instead of reviewing it over and over to make sure of the call on the field?? Like this touchdown in question, and the ball being knocked out of Warner’s hand….forward pass maybe?? I would think in a Super Bowl there would be a long look at plays like that….hell, during the regular season some insignificant plays take 10minutes to look at. What about Holmes using the ball as a prop after that score….Pitt should have been kicking off from their own 15….Cards might have had a damn good shot at getting down field quick….but no call.
I heard Adrian Wilson of the Cards on the local sports show yesterday saying that it is tough when you have to play against more than the 11 other guys on the field. That is coming from a stand up guy who isn’t the type to say those kind of things.
It stinks when there has to be controversy like this. Too bad we can’t just enjoy the players making plays and not have to feel like the league and refs decide important games. I can hardly watch an NBA game anymore because of that crap, and now it’s getting to where I have doubts about the legitimacy of NFL games.

Well, the refs just seem to hate Bird teams when they play the Steelers in the Superbowl recently. I’m sure Cardinals fans feel the Seahawks pain now, but they got jibed a bit worse. Ben’s rushing TD was at least overturned for the Cardinals. The Seahawks weren’t so lucky.

He was in
If Santonio had gone to Michigan, he would have been out. But he went to Ohio State, so he was in. :)

Perfect Angle
I watched every replay when that catch was made, including the slo-mo, but it was a side-angle shot and from the side, it looked solid. He came down with two feet apparently together, apparently they bounced, and then he was out of bounds. Man, I want to see the whole sequence again to see when the possession, to be sure.
This angle changes things…. still an incredible catch and all that, incredible effort even, but without two feet in, there is no TD. And the question is very much alive.

Technically...
The game is still over. =P
Steelers win, Cardinals lose, Vikings watched it all from their couches.

The Fat Lady's Sung
LOL!! Ain’t it the truth!
But being a bitter bastard myself, it gives me a certain amount of vicious pleasure (I think the Germans call it, "schadenfreude") to see that a team other than the Vikings has something controversial to gnaw their bellies for the next 30 years :)
