...that the Vikings should be getting a new QB.
Tarvaris Jackson has not yet proven that he is ready to play big in big games. It's undeniable. Hell, he may NEVER be ready to play big in big games.
Sage Rosenfels sure hasn't proven that he is anybody's superman either. In fact many, including myself, think he will have a hard time unseeding Jackson as the starter in 2009 due to his lack of familiarity with our players and coaching staff and a historical propensity to turn the ball over.
The Vikings would love to have a Pro Bowl QB to lead us into this season, but we are where we are. It's real easy to say the Vikes need a great QB, and it would be GREAT if we had one. It would be GREAT if we could find one.
This leads me to the point of this message. What exactly, do you purpose this team do?
We could go after Peyton Manning. We could try to get Tom Brady. Maybe the Saints will release Drew Breese.
Seriously folks, The Vikes don't want Gracia (obviously), and it isn't clear that he would be a huge upgrade anyway. They chose not to pay 15 mil for a guy like Matt Cassel (which is good by me anyway - I mean, 16 TDs and 2 INTs in 5 games against some of the leagues absolute worst competition - while boasting a putrid 5 TDs and 9 INTs in his 11 other games despite having Moss and Welker and being led by the likes of Bilichick).
Seriously, what is it that you want the Vikes to do? Is there ONE quarterback available out there who has WCO experience that could legitimately challange Sage or Tarvaris for the starting job?
So all this crap about not wanting to address the positions that we actually can improve at, like WR and the OL, that would improve the play of the QBs we do have is ridiculous. That is, unless you guys are hiding a Pro Bowl QB on the waiver wire???
