PERCY HARVIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the Vikings have a shot at this kid, they HAVE to do it!
I've watched about every film clip they have on this stud, and he would be just what we need as a WR! Hell, you could line this kid up with Peterson in the backfield and cause ALL KINDS of headaches for opposing defenses.
If you haven't seen him yet, go Google his name in the video section, but just one warning, put a pillow in your lap so you won't hurt your chin when you jaw drops open! LOL

Percy in Purple
I voted for him because it just feels right in my gut. Without even watching the clips, I want to see Percy in purple.

Fran Agrees!
This would be a great pick for the O, as it looks like we “are not” going to go after any add’t QB’s—-Like myself! Anyway….
Having Harvin—in addition to BB, Rice, Wade and The Saucer will make it more difficult for teams to defend the Vikes, short and long—-and at the same time taking some pressure off our QB and the passing game with more options to go to on those terrible Viking 3rd Downs.
Also, this will be a Big plus is the Punt Return yardage—-that we need, in order to put the O in good field position for drives. I like the idea of putting him in the backfield sometimes with AP.
Let’s get him—-hopefully the Jets don’t take him…We need another guy that can score anytime he touches the ball!!! and I know—-I’m Fran!!!!

Best... Fran The Man

I don’t think we were that bad on 3rd down last season to be honest. NFL.com has us down as getting 86/218 in the regular season. It may seem like a low percentage, but that’s really not so bad. Especially compared to 96/222 for the Patriots, who have arguably the best offense in the league, even without Brady under center.

I’d rather see this guy return kicks than AP and Maurice Hicks.
What up?

Harvin is a blast to watch
Seeing him play down here so much I couldn’t wonder what he would do in purple. My only concern is his durability. I think he is worth the pick if we can get him.

Never Fear,
about his durability, that is way overblown. I watched the BCS bowl game, and All the announcers could talk about before the game was how he was all banged up, and not 100%, and despite that he played through the pain, and he was absolutely dominent in that game, injury or no.
I would not be disipointed to see him in purple, he is soo versitile. I see him much more of a reciever then as a rusher in the NFL, but he could definetly be used as a situational back with Peterson. and he is faster then a lot of people think.

sorry but
there’s no room for creativity in a Childress-Coached offense

Good point...
Is it possible to include your head coach in a trade offer? LOL

I think
we would have to give up picks to get rid of Childress! LOL

I’d trade Childress for a warm bucket of spit

lol
The Vikings have Traded Childress and their 22nd pick in the draft moving down 3 spots.
With the 25th pick in the Draft the Vikings select Percy Harvin WR…

Harvin looks good on film,
But you also have to look at the supporting cast around him. His talent is not the only reason he looks good on the field, he has 10 other guys there with him that are pretty good as well.
Nicks on the other hand, was productive without as much support.
While I really like Harvin personally, he seems like a real down-to-earth kind of guy with a good work ethic, I don’t know if he will be a good fit. He plays through injuries and it doesn’t seem to affect his playmaking ability.
Childress’ would be the main issue with me choosing Harvin as he would not help us much considering his boring gameplan.

Sorry
but I am missing where you think he wouldn’t be a good fit. You say he wouldn’t be a good fit and then immediately say that he is tough (plays through injuries) and has play making ability. Which of those two don’t fit? The fact that he is tough or that he is a playmaker? Sounds like something that could fit into the Vikings team. Also Harvin would have lots of support on the Vikings too, at least I think they are pretty good as well.

Think about it a second…Harvin played on a damn good Florida team under an innovative coach, Urban Meyer. Meyer wanted the fastest team in college football and probably had it; the supporting cast had other playmakers as well. So, this is not to say Harvin is a system player, and yes, I agree that that he is tough (despite the propensity to get injured) and a playmaker. Bjorno is simply questioning whether Childress and Bevell would tweak their KAO to utilize Harvin most effectively. Given what we have seen, it is certainly a valid question – would Harvin’s playmaking ability be hampered under the KAO as we have seen it thus far? I’d say yes.
