The Sunday Viking Vegur, New Puppy Edition

Not to be confused with the legendary. . .I guess. . .80s R&B group.

No, the Vegur is a bit delayed today because Mrs. Gonzo and I were out and about this afternoon on a "quest," such as it was, to add another puppy to our household.  After scanning the classified ads and looking around online, we found a nice, middle-aged lady in Ocean Springs, MS that had a shih-tzu for sale.  Since we already had a shih-tzu, and she's pretty good and well-natured, we thought another one would be a nice addition.

So, we got her, and I'm not ashamed to tell you that this is the cutest damn dog you've ever seen.  She can't weigh more than a pound or two, and she's already playing around with our other two dogs.  It's really a lot of fun to watch. . .it's easy to forget how sometimes it's the little things that make us the happiest.

And, with that, here's our simple little trip around the Vikings' blogosphere for this week.

Star-divide

--The newest addition to our Vikings' blogroll, Crom's Corner, is apparently not a big fan of beat writers.  His explanation why is right here.

--Capital J has a seven-round Vikings' mock for everyone to chew on.  I'll tell you that if the Vikings' real draft looks this good, I will be ecstatic.  (I'll have my own Viking-centric mock later this week, as long as my final first-round mock draft.)

--Grant's Tomb has an outstanding retrospective of Vikings' drafts since 1993.  Truly well worth a read.

--Luft is still fighting with his site re-design over at the Locker Room, but we're sure he'll be up and running sooner rather than later.

--The Purple Buckeye has his own breakdown of the Vikings' 2009 schedule.  Well, through Week 6, anyway.

--Over at Skol Vikes, Newt has his own seven-round mock draft for the Vikings.  I like Capital J's a bit better, but I wouldn't be disappointed by a draft like this, either.

--Vike Vision, home of the purple-eyed temptress (drool), has what might be the first full-season predictions for the 2009 Vikings.  I won't spoil it, but I will say that Viking fans should like what they see.

--The Viking Age ponders the Vikings trading completely out of the first round of next weekend's draft.  It's something that's definitely not out of the realm of possibility.

--Over at Viking Vigil, our own andersklassen was asked to provide a Vikings' draft preview.  Go check out what he said.

--Last, but not least, Vikings War Cry has a look at what mock drafters are suggesting the Vikings do this Saturday.

And that's the Vegur for this weekend, ladies and gentlemen.  By this time next week, we will have the Vikings' entire draft in front of us, and can start laughing in earnest at people that think they can grade this draft before any of its players have even been introduced by their new NFL teams.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend, folks, and we'll see you back here tomorrow!

Please..

No more mock drafts with us taking Percy Harvin. He has to be off the Vikes’ board due to his “need for weed” anyway, but he’s not a fit in our offense.

OT has to be the first pick. Drop back if Britton is gone and take someone else, but get the tackle.

Congrats Gonzo...

on the new family member. Nothing better than brining home a new puppy that you can spoil and spoil and spoil…
