Cutler to The Bears
Broncos, Bears agree on deal for Cutler
The Denver Broncos announced Thursday that they have agreed in principle to trade QB Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears. Terms of the deal have not been announced.
from NFL.com
Well crap, he really couldn't have gone to a worse team from our perspective. I guess we can expect the Bears to be losing at least their first round draft pick. Oh well, at least they don't have any wide receivers?

Hah
I guess I have the quickest fingers on DailyNorseman.
Personally I think that the Bears gave up too much.

For a Kings ransom!
Glad we didn’t do that deal!
Let the Bears take him.
Who is he going to throw too?
Who is going to block for him?
Vikings are STILL the favorites in the NFCN!
VikeGuru is a doofus!!
orlando pace will be blocking for him
they also signed him

Is that the same
Orlando Pace who’s shoulder is worse than a 90 yr old woman? Is that the same Pace who’s injury list is longer than PacMan Jones criminal record?
It is? Ok, good luc with that one Chicago. I’d be surprised if he lasts through training camp.

Jay Glazer says the terms are two firsts, a third, and Orton. Link in my post.

I agree
They gave up too much. It’s not like they have a Super Bowl team now that this trade will be worth it.

Like I said on Manimal's post:
I’m going to send Jay a gift basket full of delicious, tasty, sugar-filled treats to congratulate him on his new team.

Just showered with love
For a moment I was afraid you might have missed his repost here; I should have realized that your keen attention to the most minute detail would not let you fail in your mission to spread the gift of your moderation to this thread as well. We are, naturally, privilaged that a Bears fan of your caliber has gone to such lengths to offer your tremendously valuable opinion here on a Vikings site.
wait a minute...

its not difficult to understand
ericj69 posted a classless comment about Cutler’s diabetes. Twice. He must have thought it was really funny,
And he is one of your “coordinators.”
Classy.

And your shit don’t stink, right? As if you’ve never made a mildly controversial joke. This is the internet anyways. If your feelings are going to get hurt, don’t bother going onto any forum.
calling someone out ...
… for an unclassy and offensive comment has nothing to do with hurt feelings.
And my stinky shit has nothing to do with the lack of class around here.

umm....
… not quite.
There is a big difference between having my feelings hurt and seeing classless comments. I don’t have diabetes… why would it hurt my feelings. I guess I just have more respect for people with fairly serious illnesses than you do.
HAHA! Jay Cutler has diabetes! That is hilarious. Or not.
But go ahead and continue to justify it… you are just reinforcing the fact that this place could use some class.

Let me put it this way..
My mother is a diabetic, and I still found that funny.
You need to realize that this is a place where Viking fans can vent their frustrations, share their thoughts, or just plain rag on the opposition (Mainly the Packers, but also includes Da Bears and the Lions…..Bucs decided to leave us). Things that are said, such as making fun of his diabetic condition or posting pics of Dogs tearing Michael Vick apart is something called Satirical Comedy….all the rage nowadays.
If that still doesn’t relax your sphincter, then you can choose to stay safe on the Bears forums.
Have a nice day and …
Stay classy, San Diego…
Satirical Comedy?
I don’t think that you know what satire is…
Even if the diabetes joke was funny and not offensive, it still wasn’t satire.

It's a joke.
You need to relax and not be so damn sensitive. He’s a diabetic, we’re envious of having a new QB, and we crack jokes about him. I’m sure Cutler couldn’t care less about diabetes. My brother had it and my best friend has it, and they never cared when we cracked jokes.
To be fair, you’re right, Cutler is fairly sensitive as well, but I doubt about that.
We’re doing it all in good fun; you’re complaining about it brings everyone down. Debbie Downer. That’s who you are, Debbie. Debbie Downer.

And isn’t saying, “My brother has it,” the same thing as saying, “I’m not racist – I have black friends!”

I'm saying...
You have to be able to laugh at yourself. I doubt Jay Cutler himself, if he read this, would bat an eye. You getting in a tizzy is just not needed. It’s a freakin’ joke!
As was my Debbie Downer, but Good Gravy Marie, you have no sense of humor!

well...
… you are not Jay Cutler. There is a big difference between laughing at yourself and laughing at someone’s disease.
But you are right… we should just laugh at everything, because hey, this is the internet, and who gives a shit about how offensive things that we say are.
At least we know where you stand.

Okay, well, you aren’t offended by it, you’ve already said it’s “classless”, so I think you’ve said your peace. Thank you, please stop by again with something interesting next time.

You, sir, are being classless in continuing this pointless discussion.
Also, yes, you did. Since you didn’t have your feelings hurt, obviously you aren’t offended.
please...

This should be fun.

Just making sure you are consistently classless.

I am very laid back...
That’s how I am. I don’t take offense to silly little things. It’s a joke. Why are you getting offended anyway? Are you diabetic? You’re trying to cause this huge stink for no reason. Seriously, it was a joke. Everyone here knew it was a joke. You just got all uppity because someone at our site cracked a joke about a new player on your favorite team.
If the Vikings would have signed Cutler, you bet your ass I’d make myself a Wilford Brimley jersey and wear it proudly, because I know people don’t get offended over harmless jokes. Jeeze.
Take a chill pill. Go back to the Bears’ forums. If you’re not going to actually discuss things, we don’t want to hear it.

Yep, that's me!
I posted the joke twice (and a variation of it in today’s article) because it was funny. Probably offensive, but still funny. In today’s overly PC world, the blogosphere is the last place where people should always have to be “classy”.
by Eric J. Thompson on Apr 3, 2009 5:02 PM CDT up reply actions
good point
Because it is the blogosphere, we are all free to be offensive.
Huh?
At least you admit that it was offensive.

What's funny...
is that if Cutler wasn’t a Bear, and had instead gone to the (insert team name here), this douche wouldn’t be saying anything right now. But because Cutler is now a Bear, we should all stop making fun of him? This guy reminds me of the Leave Brittany Alone guy!

you know what...
… you are right. Because I wouldn’t have followed what people said about Cutler.
But just because I wouldn’t have seen it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t still lack class.
But go ahead… keep justifying it.

Honestly man, you’re not acting any better than anyone else. When we say it’s just a joke, you act like we’re hating on diabetics and all we do is deride peopleand such. One controversial joke doesn’t make us all bad people.
You’re generalizing, putting all of us into a the “lowlife category,” while acting like you’re a saint. If you are, great. Really. The world needs more people like that. But honestly, I just think you’re kind of overreacting to this whole thing.
That’s my little spiel.

Oooh good point
But still about 72 draft picks short of what the Vikings gave up for Walker. At least that’s how I remember it. :)
