Cards now only want a 2nd Rnd pick for Boldin?!
Do the Vikes have to make a play for Boldin at this point?? In my opinion I have to say we do. Draft an O lineman with the 22nd pick give up the 2nd rounder for Boldin (and probably a little something else) and sign the guy. I know we will have a ton of cash tied up in 2 receivers but Boldin is exactly the kind of receiver we need. We already have BB for the deep threat. Defenses would have to respect the pass and it would open up more lanes for Purple Jesus.

Worth it to me
Here are the teams who are in the running, according to the above linked article:
“The New York Jets, New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles have expressed interest given the downgraded demands from a first- and third-round pick, the sources said.”
GO AFTER HIM ZYGI!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean a 1st and 3rd is pretty steep especially with us trading our 1st and 3rd last year for Jared Allen…but now only a 2nd round pick?…we would be unstoppable this year.
correction
1st and two 3rds for JA

and i hate when teams don't want to trade to the same conference
like it is really gonna make a difference. i can understand in baseball… it adds up. you face a guy 20 times. but in football? If we got FARVE and i was in GB i’d be hyped. a chance to kill him. it’s fun! it’s not like boldin will single handedly kill them.. it’s just the WRONG ATTITUDE if you ask me for a team to have… why be scared? ever? project confidence.. trade him to the seahawks or niners.. who cares. just cover him.

For a 2nd round pick, I say go for it.
I would give up this years 2nd (which we were gonna use for a WR anyhow) and next years 3rd for Boldin no questions asked.
Now, if they will let him go to the Vikes is a whole different question. It’s not like he is in the same division.
Looks like #22 is going to be Percy Harvin and Not Offensive Tackle like your probably thinknig.
If Harvin is still availible.
Wouldnt need him
If we got Boldin what would we need Harvin for??
Yes please
Hmm…take a flier on a 2nd round guy (for instance, like Gonzo suggested in his mock draft, Brian Robiskie) that may or may not pan out, or Boldin? No-brainer, of course.
But remember, he’s going to command quite a bit of cash, which is why he wants out of Arizona in the first place. So if another team picks him up for that second rounder and then signs him to a huge deal, don’t go jumping off cliffs because of it.

It's not just about the draft pick...
Money is a big issue. Like eric said, Boldin wants to get paid. He most likely will, too. It’s whether or not the owners wanna pay the big bucks.

I think
They want a second and a GOOD starter. Chester Taylor would pretty much be the only player we could offer.

It would be worth it
We could pick up a guy like Shonne Green or Javon Ringer in the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th rounds.
Yeah Javon Ringer. That would be sweet.
In AP I trust

Nope
I think the Vikings should go for it, but they’ve demonstrated a great track record of blowing every competitive acquisition they’ve had so far this year. I don’t expect them to do better here. Bolden would be awesome insurance, but I just don’t see it happening.
