Frankly, I would rather take my chances with Michael Vick, a rehabilitated dog fighter, than a brat so sensitive that he goes into a world-class pout when his new coach explores the possibility of bringing in a quarterback with whom the coach had previously worked.

You really think so?

Man, I’d rather have Cutler over Vick in a heartbeat.

Vick, in my opinion, was never a very good quarterback to begin with. A great athlete, but not a good quarterback.

Cutler is a pretty dang good QB with a few issues. I’d still take Cutler.

That’s just me.

I read the paper this morning and you know gonzo you usually say things pretty smart but agreeing with reusse isn’t smart. Taking a piece of worthless filth and a cancer like Michael Vick over Cutler who whines is stupid on many reasons. Manimal is right we don’t need a running QB we have peterson and Vick wasn’t much of a passer. Either way like I said Vick is not a person you want on your team period and I can’t believe anyone would want him.

I'm not so much agreeing with him on Vick

I’m more or less agreeing with him on the fact that Jay Cutler is a whiny, crybaby jagoff. Because he is.

If the Vikings acquired him...

Would you have been upset? Or happy?

Depends On

Would we have given up that much to get him?

If so, then I wouldn’t have been terribly pleased, no. This isn’t like trading for Jared Allen where we got a guy who was, unquestionably, the best at what he does.

True

If we gave up as much as the Bears did, I think I’d be pretty upset. The Bears paid a top-3 price for a top-10 or 12 guy.

You people exhaust me. I live in Bear Country. I have to listen to legitimate excitement over a Pro Bowl QB that is 25!! We have Tavares Jackson as our QB and have never been to a Super Bowl in my lifetime, much less won one!! Do we really want those draft picks over Jay Cutler?? Are we really arguing about Michael Vick over Jay Cutler? Supporting some columnist because Cutler is whiny? Whiny-I watched the world of Randy Moss, Daunte Culpepper, and strippers giving blow jobs to our players on a boat ride and Jay Cutler is whiny…do I have this correct? We deserve to lose this team to L.A. Packers something like 13 NFL titles/Super Bowls, Bear 9 World Titles/Super Bowls….we have zippo.. Jay Culter is whiny. Please tell me you people are kidding. Let’s all rally around our favorite Tavares Jackson moment-shall we! All we have is a ten year old memory of a fricking kicker missing a field goal against the equally inept Falcons!!!! Stop!

I get the point he's making

But Vick probably wasn’t the best choice to compare to. Although the Broncos are also to blame for their glorified game of phone tag, one thing remains certain: Jay Cutler is an unlikeable little crybaby. I can’t wait to cheer against him two times a year.

Like I said in my article today

I’m not a fan of his off-the-fieId whining, but I definitely would have welcomed him from a football standpoint. He’s obviously better than RosenCopter or T-Jax. Just because I don’t like the guy doesn’t mean I wouldn’t root for him in purple. But now that it’s certain that he won’t be, time to get my vocal chords ready to boo!

I would

absolutely love it if the Vikings got Vick. Hes not going to cost much, and the guy can straight up ball.

by VikesMT on Apr 3, 2009 6:23 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

michael vick

I’ve always thought, when it came to grear quarterbacks, that vick was a good running back. the vikes would do just as well teaching AD to be a passer.

If we did sign Michael Vick...

And that’s a BIG if, I would 100% stop supporting the Vikings.

First of all, he’s a dog murdering scumbag of a human being. Anybody that gives him another chance in the NFL is only enabling that type of behavior, and I want NOTHING to do with it.

Second, he’s a horseshit QB that wouldn’t help us win one bit. Selling our soul for no tangible gain like this would be the final straw for me.

Our Front Office and Ownership will have truly lost the plot if this ever happens. I would completely boycott the Purple until we had a new owner.

Hey Gonzo

That was a late April fools joke right ? I guess you would have not wanted Elway either, who refused to go to Balt and ended up in Denver…or Eli Manning who refused to go SD.. Both ended up winning Superbowls, which is what I am afraid Da Bears will do in few yrs once they get a few more pieces in place to go with Cutler…Which is exactly what we have now, All pieces in place, except fot RT. I usually just read and dont reply, but just had to add my 2 cents in this time.

by WVVikings on Apr 4, 2009 8:44 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

The only reason the Bears made it to the SB in ‘06 was because of their defense. They still have the pieces in place from that defense, but its lost its bite for the most part. It’ll take more than a few years for them to get to the SB. The Chargers are closer to a SB than the Bears.

Agree

the Bears are still missing a lot of pieces on offense, there Oline will be better this year then last, but not great. they have no recievers for Cutler to throw too. then their is there defence. the D is filled with Aging Stars that are on the decline years. now they have no picks to upgrade either side of the ball for 2 years. once they get an other first pick, their D will be older and will have declined further, and they still will not have a legit Recieving core!

Talking Qb

This is just a waste of time. We need to trade up and draft one. That’s the only way we will ever have a franchise QB not named Tavarius.

Mort

If you can get your hands on the ball you should be able to catch it no matter what!

by Jimemort on Apr 4, 2009 9:05 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Ridiculous...

This is an easy statement to make because we already missed out on Cutler, and we will never ever sign Vick, so no part of this scenario will ever come true and therefore will never be proved or disproved.

By the way, this Reusse guy is a classless jerk. He goes after Cutler because he is close with his parents? How stupid is this guy? Kurt Warner’s wife is all up in his business, which most people would consider worse, and yet he went to three super bowls with a win. But I’m certain he has countless valid reasons why being a “daddy’s boy” is worse than being whipped by your wife.
