Harvin Not At Rookie Camp
It seems the Vikings' first round pick, Percy Harvin, was not in attendance today at the Vikings' mini-camp. While there is no given reason at this time, Childress will be speaking on the issue sometime around three. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but I can't help but think, "Here we go again."
Come on, Percy, surprise us all. Give us a good reason, or maybe it's because you're signing your contract already. Something plausible and good. Not because you're mad or something.

No worries fella.
And whilst the Vikings are my absolute least favorite team of any sport (tied with the Patriots), and I have never, ever been a fan of Harvin, it is always tough to see a young person in the hospital for any reason. Dehydration is a biotch to deal with, and can make you feel like you want to die (1st hand exp)… I hope he recovers quickly.
In other news… I wonder why in the hell he is so dehydrated? Working out before the camp? Trying to “purify” his body from toxins? Maybe he has been sick with something that just drained him really badly…

Quote from Childress:
"He started feeling ill on Wednesday and had a hard workout with their strength coach on Wednesday. But what I think, what I’m going to conjecture, our doctors have spoken extensively with those people down there. When you take, I think he was scheduled in talking to his dad, 14 or 15 trips on airplanes here in the last couple of weeks. Including two here, the one that he left from here on Sunday, when he came back, was delayed an hour-and-a-half here in Minneapolis. He got to Atlanta at midnight, missed a connection.
"They got in a car and drove to Jacksonville, got there at 7 o’clock in the morning. And he had three workouts the week that I was down there [last week]. I just think the grind had caught up with him. That’s what they are calling extreme dehydration probably exacerbated by that hard workout. It’s an unfortunate circumstance but it is what it is."

Trying to "purify" his body from toxins?
I’m assuming that was a pot dig? From what I hear, if you’re trying to get the sticky icky out of your system, you’re supposed to drink tons of water.
From what I hear.

Extreme Dehydration would mean...
extreme consumption of alcohol or ecstacy… definitely not pot.
I thought Chicago hoodrats knew their drugs… I’m thoroughly disappointed.
This will be too easy...
1- I was referring to the purification process… but as an educated member of the anatomy and physiology field, I can tell you extereme dehydration is not in fact tied directly to any one drug/ medication/ chemical in particular.
2- I am from Louisiana, and have been in Oregon for the last 2 years… and while I travel all over this great country, I am neither a Chicagoan nor a hoodrat.

That Explains...
the “Geaux” part of your name. I was going to ask you if you were from Bayou Country as that term originated down there. I lived in Baton Rouge for three years back in the early 80’s…Good people down there who love a good time.
Oh yeah, you’d want TONS of water to “purify”. Also, niacin and cranberry pills….. not that I know anything about the topic…
V-I-K-I-N-G-S! Skol Vikings, Let's Go!!
Lmao.
The younger Norsemen are surely taking notes right about now :)

If you think Niacin and Cranberry pills do anything...
Then you don’t know anything about the topic.
:)
Negatory.
It is fat-soluble, not water-soluble.
Meaning that no matter how much water you drink, it does nothing. Same with your standard diuretics.
People with lower body fat percentages will expel the evidence much quicker, in other words professional athletes.
Most will be completely clean after a week.
