Harvin Hospitalized

PrintAs our excellent FanPosters pointed out earlier, Percy Harvin wasn't at today's rookie minicamp. The guys over at Access Vikings just broke the news as to why he wasn't.
Harvin wasn't there because he fell ill at the Atlanta airport on his way to Minnesota. Apparently he was suffering from extreme dehydration, and some strenuous workouts this week appear to be the culprit in the early going.
Obviously, this is pretty scary coming not even a week after Saturday's draft. However, Swine Flu has already been ruled out and I imagine that he'll be just fine after taking it easy and getting some fluids.
Harvin is expected to be hospitalized for a couple days, and he will of course miss the minicamp this weekend. We'll be sure to let you know more as we hear it.

This can happen with competitive guys like that. Sometimes they don’t know when to say when and push themselves past their limits. Hopefully he can get rested and recovered soon.

That the Harvin thing is posted over at ProFootballTalk, and their comment section immediately filled up with Packer fans and complete idiots (but I repeat myself) immediately throwing out that he had been off somewhere smoking pot and was looking for an excuse to not have to provide a urine sample.
Never mind the fact that the NFL can make him provide a sample ANY TIME THEY DAMN WELL PLEASE and that it has nothing to do with mini-camp at all.
Good lord, some people are stupid.

You know how Michael Phelps “smoked a bong” and won 8 gold medals last summer. I’m thinking the Vikings need to start importing some fine Afghani Weed for Harvin. Weed is obviously the secret to his explosiveness. Please keep smoking brother!

only the one guy in the Tribune story blogs got it right-partying just before going to minicamp. he’s a millionaire now, he’s not going to pass up the last party opportunity before going to basic training!!! how many of us have been there? I was hungover feeling like barfing when the bus pulled into bootcamp!! so, in summary, he missed the first rookie camp cuz he was drunk. another stupid move only out done by showing up to the combine lit up like 3 mile island!! Way to go Chilly.
