I hate to do this but......
I have got to bring up Brett Favre "he who must not be named", and give everyone my professional opinion on the matter.
I personally feel the aquisition of "He who must not be Named" will only prove to be a distraction all season. The Vikings may not get the media attention that some other NFL teams get, but you know i kinda like it that way. We don't have as many distractions with little media attention. Bringing in "he who must not be named" will only cause a media frenzy at winter park and as you all know it has already caused quite the frenzy. I like being unnoticed that way we have only the pressure we put on ourselves and we can shock the world like the Cardinals did last season.
Secondly after sizing up our current qbs and the way "he who must not he named" has played the last 5 seasons i believe the only fair thing to do for this team if "he who must not be named" is brought in is to throw him into the open qb competition. Handing him the starting job will not look good for the coach given his average at best numbers the last few seasons especially since TJack showed great improvement at the end of last season and Sage has proven that he can be a pretty good qb, even if he is a bit like "he who must not be named." Sage will but everything on the line to win, and thats when turnovers happen, which is his biggest knock coming to the vikings. Favre has played the same way the later part of his career and shown that he can be the games biggest chokeartist in the clutch. Why do we need two gunslingers with turnovers, we don't. thats why if "he who must not be named" is signed he should have to compete for the right to start for our talented team.
Thirdly, the fact that Green Bay let him go signalled that he was no longer the best qb on their roster. an after watching rodgers last year i have to say that rodgers was the better qb on their roster. The fact that the team who invested so much in "he who must not be named" was willing to let the face of the franchise go should serve as a warning. With "he who must not be named" the vikings would be getting damaged goods from the looks of it and damaged goods are often of no use.
Once again I'M SORRY but i had to give my take.
PS: My favorite to win the starting is TARVARIS JACKSON!!!

T-Jack or Sage
I agree with the main point of what you are saying but the truth is GB had to see what they had in Rodgers before it was too late — he probably looked as good as T-Jack in practice but they had to see if that carried over. So money in Rodgers and Farve’s cold/hot love for football is what killed him in GB and fueled his desire to play for the Vikes and stick it to them…hence the mess we have this year. Truth be told with our D, we don’t need Farve we need Dilfer type of performance out of Sage or a little better Shaun King with wheels out of T-Jack and we can go all the way. ….Seriously no one has had the talent we have had in the front 7 and not go far with a monster RB and we have a HOF RB. We don’t need to have the distraction but if HeWhoHasAlreadyBeenNamed comes then that is fine because we have men like Allen and Pat in the locker room to keep things straight…..the locker room does become a problem if we don’t lose and basically disappoint with HWHABN in at QB. I say give T-Jack and Sage a chance to fight it out to see who can control the ball……I am jealous of any QB who gets to hand off to AD, throw it up for BB, throw a pick and shrug it off and then throw a slant to Harvin and just watch – Sign me up – I will look to both sides of the field and can throw it 50 yards?!?!

I suggested it before, and I’ll do it again here. Someone should make a master FanPost for all things Favre. Explain that the purpose is to provide a thread for everyone to give their opinions, post links, etc.
Rec it to the top, and as Madden would say, “BOOM!”, a thread to end all threads.
Be nice. Flag comments that you think are offensive. Use the "reply" button. Drink plenty of water. Compliment others. Rec comments and posts you like. Don't call people names. If you don't like someone's comment, attack the comment and not the commentor. Learn the difference in your/you're, then/than, to/too. Exercise. Relax. Stretch often. Find good in the world.
He could also say "BOOM
And we’d have a nice Tinactin commercial for busting that hard to kill athlete’s foot.

Gotta love The Onion
Well, until we do have a consolidated Farve thread, I’ll post this here. My favorite article about the whole mess thus far…

only problem with that...
is that in a weeks time you will have thousands of comments on that one thread. No new person to DN will want to read that many comments. And either will I. I am usually on here every day or so, but sometimes I miss a day or 3, and I do not want to read that many new comments on one thread. I kind of like that they are spread out

I hope...
FAVVRRRREEE comes to MN! Unless Chily and the Vikes org put the reigns on him reight away, ol’ Gunslinger Brett may be the worst thing to happen to your team since Hershall Walker (Texas Ranger).
But I’d enjoy the show!
Seriously, if the Vikes sign him I think it is a dumb move. What kind of confidence does that give TJack or Rosiepalms?
Here He Comes---Brace for Impact
Self-confidence is the only kind you can’t survive without. If they have to pump you up before every game like some parade float balloon, you probably weren’t that much to begin with. As Adrian Peterson has said recently on TV, he believes in Sage and Tarvaris, and if you can be seriously deflated over what other people do or think of you, you don’t belong in the NFL. It’s not a place for the faint of heart.
Favre is coming. There is little doubt left now. Prepare to deal with it, or else suffer the consequences of a head on collision with reality.
No need to coddle
It’s not like T-Jack is Vince Young’s brother, and Sage has certainly had his fair share of ‘hurry up and wait’ situations (and then some). I think both can handle taking a back seat to a vet like BF, if it comes down to it, for a year. Even if BF doesn’t want to teach them, they’ll still learn and benefit from that. Their time is coming….
If either of them does start squirting, the Vikes can trade ‘em off for a 5th round pick. We’d see how much their egos like that. :)
