Cutler good for NFC North?

With all the rejoicing that we have been doing over last weekend's draft and all the recent talk about "you know who" maybe unretiring again, we have forgotten and rightly so that da Bears picked up Jay Cutler via a costly trade. As much as I would have liked the Vikes to have traded up 4 years ago and draft him or make a move and aquire him this year when he was on the trading block. I must admit even though he is now the QB for our rivals from the windy city, I kinda like seeing him there. Think about it for 15 years we had that "you know who" guy to hate and every year when the schedule would come out we would circle those dates with our confrontations with #4. Well, now we have someone new to hate and he comes in a #6 fashion. True he has a connon of an arm and is athletically gifted, all the more to root for our defense to get him and do horrible things to him. This makes for good football and having #6 in the NFC North will make the division better and our beloved Vikings better, so come playoff time we will be prepared to conquer whatever teams stand in our way of a Super Bowl title. As for Stafford we have to wait and see. Any thoughts or comments on this subject?

Has a link story about the history of Pro Bowlers traded for picks and how its worked out for them. It gave in depth story about the “top ten” including both our nightmare Walker trade deal and our near salvation trade of Tarkenton, then back to us again five years later that led to him taking us to the SB while the Giants got squadouche.

What I took away from the article though is that the teams who trade for the “big player” often dont get what they bargained for and the teams who get the picks either go big with them or get worse.

My personal gut feeling is that the Broncos will get worse and the Bears will probably get a year or two of production before they fall apart cause they gave up all those draft picks.

The Vikes passed on him. No way to be 100% sure they did the right thing, I hope so. I doubt it, but I hope they were right. Speilman and Childress had better be right on that decision, or we’ll be eating stupid-pie for the next decade.

We’ll have to wait and see come season time. Personally, I think the Bears made this deal about 3 seasons too late. They needed a pro-bowl QB back in ‘07. Now their defense has lost a bit of its bite, and their offensive playmakers have pretty much gone. Yes, they have Forte. But I’m fairly sure Cutler would rather have Muhammed and Berrian over Hester and whoever.

Cutler will flop. Denver didn’t trade away Cutler because they couldn’t tolerate his attitude alone. If he was the real deal, he’ld still be a Bronco. He was an OK QB on a pass happy team. Throw in his ego and he becomes a cancer. Denver made the right call. I can’t wait for him to start calling out his teammates. He doesn’t know how to shut his mouth. Did you ever notice the drama he had going on with Rivers? Could you ever see Manning or Brady acting like that?

Hell, look at all the drama people spool up here on DN at the mere mention of Favre! I swear, all the swooning around here makes Cutler look downright stoic, lolol!!!!
