Around SBN: The Worst Team Ever Projected?

Adrian Peterson the real leader

right now it is safe to say that AP is the leader of on our offense and in the locker room. with out question he leads with his actions, and has been emotional lifts in many games. Now if good ol Brett Favre does happen to find his way in a PeRpLe jersey this season what will be his role. he would have instant respect in the locker room no doubt. he has a great resume and is a great player. but just because he is Brett Favre does not mean he is all of a sudden gonna come in and be a leader on this team. or does it?.  if he is really signed., will Ap all of a sudden lose his status on our team. will our players be so awe struck that brett favre will take our locker room and control of the field and leave AP left as the side kick to brett. i think not. AP in my opinion will still be the leader on the field and in the locker room. he is so much to us in terms of offense and momentum. If brett went to any other team besides us he would be the instant leader on that team. the fear is that maybe brett will take the shine from AP. Is it Possible?

It is a quiet leadership I guess

and not knocking AP, I don’t think he is the fire on the team that Allen and Winfield are. Maybe that is a problem. I don’t se any offensive guy stepping up and pumping up the offensive huddle. Would like to see more that by someone.
One knock I have heard a few folks give including a former Viking is that AP could inflate his total yards if he wasn’t so soft on contact at the line. This is not to say he is weak by any means but something he needs to learn. We often hear how it is a 1 yard/no yard gain and then eventually the “big one”. A little more of a a fight at the line of scrimmage when he doesn’t see a hole would be helpful in a game of inches. Personally, I think that was his motive for putting on more muscle weight. Adrian, to his credit, is his biggest critc and realizes this is something to be worked on.
Is he a leader-Yes. But in an unassuming way. I don’t think we’ll see him ranting around like a maniac to pump up his team. The QB should really take that role., ala Peyton Manning. Jax is too quiet. Rosencopter I think might have a little of that. But Favre would provide a boost like that for sure. That is if we really want him.
Nice to hear from ya AB. You been following this Favre circus in Washington?

Sometimes, I think it’s just the opposite problem with him. When he starts fighting for yards with 3 defenders on him, he either drops the ball before going down or winds up taking an unnecessary shot. Sometimes he needs to just go down.

Do remember. There doesn’t have to be one leader on a team. Having played on several non-professional championship teams in different sports over the years, I have seen the best teams made up of several leaders who weren’t overbearing. Each person has a natural instinct of when they need to step up. It works much better than one person trying to shoulder the entire load.

We have Jared and Winfield as boisterous leaders, AP as a quiet one, and others who fill other needed roles at different times, either by words or by actions.

With the depth of good personalities on our team, I don’t think Brett will be a distraction. I am just hoping that he plays well and doesn’t get hurt. Slam that nail into the coffin and let’s put the SB away for good. Then we can move on with life in the purple and gold with TJax or Sage or whoever.

Good point

You would think with those strong hands everybody talks about, fumbles wouldn’t be a problem.

Rachel is in Miss.

No one saw her leave Minnesota? You guys just let her go? Shame! Should have told her Brett was at your place and you would take her there.
