How about that Asher Allen kid?

As excited as I am about Percy Harvin, I am also really excited about Asher.

Listening to a few interviews with him, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and a humble nature. I guess that is the difference between CB and WR besides the obvious height and hands differences. They are much more likely to be humble and hard working than a Wide Receiver.

His man-to-man coverage skills are going to be a real key asset for us in the coming years. With Winfield getting up there in age, I am happy to have a guy like Asher behind him and Griffin.

Asher

Dont know much about him. His 40 time is unimpressive, but hopefully he fits well into our cover 2 scheme.

Pretty much all the CBs in this years draft

Had unimpressive 40s so its not that big a deal for a 3rd round pick.

Everybody had unimpressive 40s. Could’ve just been the new turf at Indy.

Personally, I'm excited

I think Asher Allen will prove to be a steal for us in the third round… Assuming we don’t horribly mismanage his development like we did with Marcus McCauley. But, I don’t think Asher will let that happen, he’s already spending extra time after practice to become the best player he can be. That is great! With his work ethic, and with his talent, he could develop into one helluva player. Let’s not forget that he’s built like Antoine Winfield Jr., and having Antoine there to help him, and give him tips and basically teach Asher how to be one of the toughest corners in the business.

Hard Hitter

I watched his highlights on the Tube and was impressed. He’s aggressive, he’s a ball-hawk, and he’s not afraid to mix it up. I saw more than one shot where he was throwing flying tackles to bring people down, this young man has some fire in his belly!

Asher Allen

The kid looks great to me. He has a lot of potential.
He’s a very humble young man with a tough, hard working mentality. I’m excited to see what he can do under the mentorship of Winfield.
