It appears Brandon Marshall might be done in Denver
Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall(notes) arrived at the team's headquarters Friday, met with owner Pat Bowlen and left carrying packed boxes leading to speculation he has played his last game in Denver, according to the Denver Post. If this is true, there is no doubt in my mind that his motives are to join CUTLER in chicago!!!!
Chime in viking world, this can not be good for the beloved purple, if in fact CUTLER AND MARSHALL reunite.

Sure he might...
want to join Cutler in Chicago, but there’s no guarantee that is where he would end up playing. I would guess that he would end up playing for whatever team offered him the most money…because it is all about the money.
This, if it happened, would hurt badly. The most glaring—and important—weakness in the Bear’s offense is at the WR position. Adding Marshall would end that deficiency. And, as TO has shown time and again, even the most obnoxious receiver can keep his sh$t tight for one year. This acquisition would be great for the Bears in 2009. Look for it to come undone in 2010 and beyond!
I’d also moderate the first option a bit. Yes, it would make them “serious” contenders. But, I still think we’re right there with ‘em, therefore, they wouldn’t be a lock.

Chicago? Why would he want to go to a team with a QB who threw him under the bus last year? I bet he’d go to the Cowboys if he is traded or released.
+1
"He didn’t call me or anything. It was an accident, but a lot of people would have called to see how someone is doing after they got hit in the head. Especially if they had to go on the DL." — Morneau on pitcher Ron Villone after an April 2005 beaning.
Curious
What did he do to throw him under the bus?

The Bears will be even more SB favorites if they sign Marshall. Marshall and Hester should make a good pairing for Cutler, in addition to the Bears TEs. They probably will sign Marshall, since they’ve been slobbering over trying to sign Burress or trade for Boldin. Obviously supposed character issues are not a concern for them. This signing will happen.
What are the Bears going to offer?
Draft piucks? Get real. Chicago will not have enough to offer. Denver will want picks and good ones which Chicago does not have.
Cut a top-10 receiver?
C’mon.
Do you really think they would let him go without any compensation? Marshall is still under contract, and at best would be a restricted free agent next year.
Even if he refused to play, they are not going to give him up for nothing.
That’s the way the article makes it sound, as if he’s simply packing his bags and getting ready to go. The Giants cut Burress and didn’t try to get anything for him. Terrel Owens is a good WR too, he didn’t get traded, just cut. It’s not unprecidented. The guy’s got character concerns, most teams don’t bother trading for those kind of players.
Burress shot himself in the leg. The mayor of New York came out publicly and stated that he wanted the full extent of the law on this one, which means Plaxico is looking at years in jail. That’s why the Giants cut him.
TO was a cancer to the team. He in an over the hill WR who, in Jerry Jones’ eyes, made the team worse. That’s why he got cut.
Brandon Marshall is a top 10 WR. He is still in his rookie contract, which is paying him next to nothing compared to his value. He has one more year left, then he is a restricted FA. If McDaniels cuts him, he will be compared to some of the worst head coaches of all time IMO

Yeah, cutting him would be a very bad idea. If he’s as good as gone after the season, trading him wouldn’t be a horrible idea.
In AP I trust
Just say no to Favre.

You think
they would just cut a player with that much value?

Need an other option
How about will lead Bears to Division lead, then crumble down the stretch, and both will cry their way out of Chicago like they did in Denver?
Marshall is not going anywhere
Denver would be stupid to let one of the best WRs go without getting anything in return. Granted, McDaniels has already messed up with the whole Cutler situation, but I don’t think he’s that dumb that he’d just cut Marshall. IF he leaves Denver, it will be through a trade. Chitown doesn’t have their 1st rounder next year, which will be the minimum required for a WR of his caliber

Why don't we sign him?
It’s not like we’re stacked with top notch receivers, right? If the guy gets out of hand, we’ll just put him in the locker room for about five minutes with Jared Allen, he’ll straighten him out.
We only sign quality “character” recievers. It’s the same reason you don’t see the Vikings all up ons Burress or trading for Anquan “Shout at my coaches during the NFC Championship game while we’re winning” Boldin (Not his actual nickname). If they do simply cut him, I doubt we’ll sign him.
Well he did say, "We only sign quality “character” recievers."

Straightened himself out.
Now he’s the best defensive end in the league. I’ll take that.

Skol Vikings!
Woot Woot!
shouldn’t there be a third option in this poll?
if brandon marshall joins the bears….
they immediately become better but it won’t mean squat because they’ll still get trounced by the vikings.
that’s the one i’d vote for.
