Well, folks, here it is. . .the "State of the Vikings" address. I hadn't heard anything about this until Anthony mentioned it last night, and to be completely honest, I don't know what the heck to expect from it, either. However, it's Vikings-related, and at this point in time we're all jonesing for any news at all as it pertains to the Beloved Purple.

FYI Access Vikings
Has a video of Favre throwing today for Oak Grove High. If you are too lazy, what you should know is that he said A) It feels good, but not ‘NFL Good’ so far. B) This Friday marks 4 weeks post surgery C) Both he and the Vikes will know before camp starts, and D) The Packers do indeed suck.

Hey Vikings Fans: I was at a bar in NYC last night. Jared Allen was there. He was very drunk, screaming out lyrics to ’80s music, but the most embarrassing part of the night was when he lost his iphone. He forced the DJ to stop the music and announced over the loudspeaker that he indeed lost his iphone. He basically got on his knees at and searched for his iphone with a flashlight all over the bar.
Other Jared Allen notes: He has no idea about the Favre saga, he likes whiskey and drinks Jack and he thinks Sage Rosenfelds sucks.
Seems like a nice guy.
Sorry, but.....
While I caught this about an hour in (I was repairing a broken water main just below the slab of my house, I miss basements) what I did catch seemed to be nothing more then a pep rally more cheesy then the ones at Centennial High School when I used to go there before moving in ’90. Thank God I was spared those after arriving in Albuquerque. I left the computer room with the volume up but even then turned it off after about 30 minutes. Was there ANYTHING of substance talked about? Such as player changes, stadium drive, improvements to players, etc? And not including “He Who Shall Not Be Named” as I know that would come up and tired of hearing about it.

yeah
it was quite lame. But, come on… it’s June and we don’t get any sort of football action again until late July, so it was cool to see and hear the Vikings brass exuding their confidence in this year’s team. Nothig of substance came out of it, but I’m still happy I watched it.
If for nothing else, to see the KILLER ChillyBeard. And to hear the very first TD call of Percy Harvin from PA. (Man, PA is quite a loser when he’s not calling a game… didn’t know that.)
