Why Thy Vikings Shall NOT Get Favre
Brett Favre had 22 touchdown passes and 22 interceptions with the New York Jets. The Jets were averaged 16th in passing yards that year in the league. Also, Favre failed to get the Jets to thy playoffs. Why the hell don't the Vikings just sign Danny Devito, or any other fat ass that doesn't know anything about football. Danny Devito is cheaper, and he'll just throw interceptions too. Brett Favre is turning 40 in October, and I highly doubt he'll be getting any better. DO NOT SIGN THIS RETARD. T-Jack has improved a whole bunch over 2 years and I think he'll be a promising QB for the Minnesota in thy future. Thank you for your time reading this. =)

Umm .. he had 20 TD and 11 INT and was even talked about as an MVP candidate when he got injured.

He was definitely affected by the injury last year
He was doing well prior to the injury, considering the speed with which he had to learn the Jets system. The injury really messed with him. If he’s really recovered now, it’s a whole different situation. He’s still a big risk taker, which means, yeah, there’ll be interceptions, but there will also be Brett pulling rabbits out of hats where nobody else could.
It’s the Vikes’ dice to roll…

I can understand that you don't like this guy...
But come on. Calling him a retard? Saying Danny Devito and Favre would tie for interceptions? Come on man. Have some self respect.

This does not offer anything constructive
please think hard before you post, “Would I make this argument in person?” Usually helps the brain-to-mouth filter.

Sometimes you have to put division rivalry's aside.
Were you mad when we signed R.Longwell?
Were you mad when we signed D.Sharper?
Were you mad when we signed B.Berrian?
So far all those guys have worked-out pretty well.
Favre is not “Retarded”
Favre beat the Vikings so many times during his career that it’s causing you to think with your emotions instead of realizing that Favre could run this offense better than any of our current QB’s, with or without ADAP.
The Vikes have the best Run-Game in the league, and that will keep Favres arm fresh. Not to mention, we got the D to bail his ass out of a few INT’s. We are no worse with Favre than we are with Rosenfels or Jackson.

rivalry isn't the issue
if were turning 30 i wouldn’t be against it. favre could have just come off beating us at home in the nfc championship game, thrown the winning touchdown, spanked ap’s butt as an endzone dance, and then taken a dump on our 50 yard line logo and i would have been in favor of him being our qb in a situation such as ours. but favre isn’t 30, he’s 40.
i don’t care who he played for. i don’t think he’s that good. i think he might (might!) be an early season improvement at qb but by seasons end i think tj or sage will be better.
will i be disappointed if we win a superbowl with favre? hell no! that’s just ridiculous. however, if we don’t win the bowl with favre i will consider the whole debacle a bust and a setback for the rest of the team. and because i don’t feel we can win the bowl with him, i don’t want him on our team.
now, having said all of that, i got a bit of a bad taste in my mouth during sharpers and longwells first seasons. how many picks did sharper have against us? how many game winners did longwell have against us. i got over it, no big deal. berrian, not so much, chicago’s qb’s sucked too bad for him to hurt us much in his short time there. i’m sure i’ll have that same sour taste in my mouth watching favre qb the vikings at first but i’ll get over it. but that has nothing to do with why i don’t want him on our team.
the sick feeling i’ll have in my stomach by seasons end will have nothing to do with his time in gb and everything to do with a 40 year old qb playing past his prime and fading down the stretch.

But...it's Brett bleepin' Favre!
Longwell, Berrian, and Sharper weren’t the face of my most hated franchise for 16 years. There’s a difference.

You guys are better off
With Farve, as long as you can keep that arm healthy. There I said it REVENGE4Favre. But I still would of rather seen a team this close to a serious superbowl run, spent all that money somewhere else. I gotta beleave that there has too be another area that could of been upgraded with all that money that you guys are going to pay the aging wonder.

Yeah, no name calling!
F*** you!
Just kidding…..or am I?
"He didn’t call me or anything. It was an accident, but a lot of people would have called to see how someone is doing after they got hit in the head. Especially if they had to go on the DL." — Morneau on pitcher Ron Villone after an April 2005 beaning.

REALLY?
Is that because Brady went down in week 1? Or is it because he’s coming to your vikes? If he would of went to camp last year for the JETS maybe the outcome would of been different. But when your on the verge of 100 and seen every defence that has ever been played I guess you don’t have to go to practice. . .“we talkin bout practice”. Maybe we should start calling him A.I. then you guys would have ADAP and A.I. on the same team.

Brett is just a kid...
George Blanda completed his final NFL pass when he was 48, and Vinnie Testaverdi, at 43. Jeff George apparently thinks he should be the Vikings quarterback now, and he’s older than Brett.

hey you forgot another old geezer!
Rich Gannon took the RAIDERS to the superbowl at the age of 43. You guys should all know that being that he wasn’t good enough t play for your Vikings.

One of the dumbest blog posts I've ever read.....but hey I'm still going to post
One thing you can’t deny, the man is 22-10 the last 2 years. And 4 of those loses were when he was hurt in the last 4 of 5 games of last year. I like to use facts.
by dsludo on Jun 18, 2009 6:19 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
And also last year Favre was top 3 in the NFL in completion percentage in the league until he got hurt.
by dsludo on Jun 18, 2009 6:21 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Not to mention the fact that he ended the year in the top 5 in completion percentage.
But I still don’t like him.
by Bjorno on Jun 18, 2009 9:30 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I’ll admit i’d rather win one without favre, and i think its possible. I really liked Jackson at the end of the year. He really made me believe he could be a quality starter. But i’ve seen enough of Packer games to know that Favre can be better then a quality starter. I don’t think Ahman Green or Ryan Grant really threatened a defense like Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor do. So it seems logical he could be as productive as he was in 07’.

Am guessing
The Staff and owners know more about this…whether it be ticket sales or performance. Now imo :) Ole#4 is and upgrade over the QB’s we now have. How much is yet to be seen.

Great post
I’m glad I joined this post, I needed a good laugh. 37 voted no, 3 of which were Vikes fans the other 34 were bloggers from who knows where. Even though thats not a concise breakdown in the numbers you get my drift. One fact remains however, you can’t deny that with B F it makes this team better! Thats what the mentality of the NFL is, WIN NOW!!! I’m sure that in the past a lot of budding QB’s were spurned. The NFL remains a business all emotions aside, thats a tough lesson for a die hard fan to learn. My opinion is get Favre WIN NOW period.

I was irate when I first heard the talk about the “evil #4” possibly being the new Vikings qb. now I really think that all of us fans need to let go of the hate. The simple fact is, if Favre is wearing purple this fall, a good fan needs to cheer for him, regardless of their expectations or speculation. Otherwise, please find yourself a new team.

Continuation
Even after my acceptance of the inevitable, I don’t think that Favre is the missing piece to our postseason hopes, but I would like nothing more than to be proven wrong.

At the age of 40+
And coming off of arm damage, how long do you think he will actually play this year? This goes out to all of you except REVENGE4FAVRE cause we all know that you feel he will take the vikings to a perfect season with a superbowl win. I’m just the opposite I think you guys were on the right track with T-Jac. He was really getting into a groove with Rice until he got hurt and then again at the end of the season he was getting back into that same groove.
