Fan Posts
Why are there so many new posts from non viking fans. Over the past couple weeks i have read numerous posts from people, who although may be expressing their opinions, are stupid and they have no idea what they are talking about. Personally i do not care what other fans think about our situation because if i did i would be on profootballtalk.com all day instead of this site. This is where i find my facts. How would you like it if i write a bunch of pointless ish all over your favorite teams site. Shut up and leave us alone.
This FanPost was created by a registered user of The Daily Norseman, and does not necessarily reflect the views of the staff of the site. However, since this is a community, that view is no less important.

Not cool bro
I have no problem with other team fans coming onto this site and voicing their opinion. Most of them have very good points to make.

I don't mind them unless they have no clue what they're talking about.
Which is probably 100% of them.
"He didn’t call me or anything. It was an accident, but a lot of people would have called to see how someone is doing after they got hit in the head. Especially if they had to go on the DL." — Morneau on pitcher Ron Villone after an April 2005 beaning.

If they're civil and bring up anything ineteresting...
Then I have no problem. If they came on and said, “OMG PERCY HARVIN IS SO STOOOOPID” then I’d have a problem. So far, we haven’t had anything like that. Just some overly-optomistic views, which I can live with.

They are ALL really Farva, he goes around his neighborhood in a Wisconsin bordertown using his neghbor’s PCs so the IPs work out.

Hey, it worked, and nobody’s caught on until now. How I find the time for all this posting, school, and work in Michigan is beyond me though. I kind of black out, and when I come back I’m typing on DN in some barn in western Wisconsin.
In AP I trust
Just say no to Favre.

When LeBay takes over Arnie, yeah, then you hop into your custom ‘58 Plymouth Fury that never rust’s in the snow and mow down NFL Players……….Oh look, theres Cutler…..THUMP THUMP…….GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

I don’t mind most of them, most of them are civil and inteligent.
Honestly, it shouldn’t be that surprising. DN is just a small part of SBN, and other teams’ blogs are only a click or two away. The whole setup encourages talking with fans of other teams.

Fans of other teams....
…offer a different point of view and if they want to talk trash they better be able to take it as well….

Summer vacation=
Posters of solid substance on break with nothing to talk about, perhaps enjoying some time off themselves. Like any football blog, it because weak sauce durring the doldrums of June/July. Deal with it or go outside and not look here for a few weeks? I don’t know.

+1
I understand where you’re coming from.
The problem really isn’t people from other fan bases, it’s people from other fan bases who are rude and obnoxious, people who have other agendas, and of course, our latest Brett-lover who just pisses everyone one.
The net result is that the noise level here at DN has gone up, which means quality has gone down, and it’s a Viking fan site that gets pissed on. It’s annoying, and disappointing. This place is becoming a free-for-all zone, and it used to be better than that.
The trolls are winning.

Only if you let them.....
….you’d be surprised how far ignoring them and not responding to their garbage will go in getting them to leave and not come back.

i'm going out on a limb here
And going to assume you are refering to myself; Packallday; and the few Bears fans that have been coming over here lately. If you guys want us to leave so you can be a bunch of blinderd horses running down the track then you can have your way. But during this down time before training camps start we should be able to have some good conversations. 1 last shot at revenge and then I’m done with the kid, the Vkings didn’t need FAVRE to win the division last year did they? So why do you continue to put him up here or anywhere, you are worse than MADDEN.

Wasn't referring to anyone specific....
…and I actually don’t think you (davis0169) are a bad poster. I was just referring to people who come onto any blog and talk sh!t and call people names from the safety of their homes or offices.

That’s pretty much what I do. I could post to a lot of it, but what’s the point? I’d just encourage the name-calling and juvenile behavior. Most trolls just want to disrupt, side-track, discourage, and drive people away from a site, so if you don’t feed them, they can’t grow very much.
That being said, for the record, I’m definitely not referring to packallday, who’s been a good member of the site, even when provoked, and contributed some great thoughts to discussions without attacking the Vikings or the writers here.

Alldayson28
I assume this post was largely directed towards me. I like to voice my opinions on my team and other teams in the division as well. I think by posting on your blog, the Bears blog, and the Lions blog, I can offer different view points that you may not see, because whether we like to admit it or not we are all biased.
I feel like I have been pretty realistic with everything I have said on here. I know some of you think me comparing your wr’s and the Bears wr’s is ridiculous, but I don’t. I’m not trying to bash on either your wr’s or the Bear’s wr’s. I think both of your receiving cores have the potential to be top 15-10 in the league. I also think the fact that there were 2-3 Vikings fans who agreed that your receiving cores are fairly similar says a lot also.
I have also learned some things from posting on here and it’s been a good reality check. I thought we would switch over to the 3-4 with out any problem, and potentially be right back where we were in 07’. From talking with Vikings fans about that, I realized that the reality is, we are probably going to struggle with our switch, because historically, every team has.
I think talking to other fans can be beneficial but only if it’s done in a civil and non-attacking way. I’m sorry if anyone on here has felt attacked by me on here (and yes that includes your revenge4favre…no really though). All of you are fans and you know how easy it can be to get upset when people say something about your team that you disagree with. I would just ask everybody to keep in mind that I am biased and because of that we probably won’t see eye to eye on a lot of topics, and I will do the same to all of you.

Bloggers from other teams
I actually enjoy having intelligent conversations with people who aren’t biased towards the Vikes. It gives me a different perspective and a view from the outside. I don’t know any of you personally and certainly don’t have a beef with anyone. Even the people who referred to me as an idiot or retarded for thinking TJ still has a chance with this team. I’ll take the high road……usually. :D

i like your posts packallday. you are civil and bring up some interesting points. other than that stinky cheese smell that lingers a few hours after each post i have no complaints ;P
be careful tho. i think i’m starting to see a purple tinge to your greenness!

You’re definitely not a Limburger :)
Seriously tho, I appreciate the fact that you add to the discussions, and you do it in a civil fashion, and you don’t let yourself get provoked into being an asshole. Sure you’re biased, you’re a Packers fan, but nothing wrong with that at all. If we all agreed, there wouldn’t be much to say.

you’re a Packers fan, but nothing wrong with that at all
i totally disagree with that statement.

We need them
Who will we have to rub it in when we win the division, AGAIN =).
You’ll have an occasional post thats only there to piss people off. And it usually works, i’m guilty. But I’ve enjoyed the couple of loyal Packer and Bear fans that have gave us an input from fans that know our team from an enemies standpoint, and it will allow you to strengthen your beliefs (not religion) and sometimes change them.
SKOL VIKES.

Everyone needs to just completely ignore REVENGE4FAVRE. He is feeing off all the attention. He’s the only one I really have a problem with. I get a headache just looking at his posts. Please everyone ignore him. Please.

Agreed
I enjoy the posts from rival teams and it is really interesting to get a view of the Lions perspective. I’m not trying to insult any Lions fans out there and I actually admire them because they have had very little to cheer for the past decade and to remain a true fan through all of that is admirable.
To all of the posters from rival teams that wish to engage in constructive discourse, I say to you all “Welcome to the DailyNorseman!” To those who wish to spread their vitriol, “Please keep it clean and don’t insult anyone”
Thanks to everyone for the entertainment.
Norm Green still sucks!

I am a Bears fan & usually post to Windy City Gridiron
but i check all the SB Nation NFC North blogs daily.
My guess as to why we get a lot of crazy post around this time of year is the summer football psychosis that is caused by the low amount of actual news coming from the NFL.
The Norseman was actually linked by a major online sports outlet in the past few days, so that might be exacerbating the problem here, especially if some of the crap comes from people who just joined in the last 3 days specifically to make a comment.
As for veteran SBNation posters from other sites showing up in droves, compounding the normal summer NFL psychosis is the fact that one of the most interesting rumors around is “what will Favre do?”. He’s one of the greats, and face it, he’s attracting attention.
I happen to live in Minneapolis, so I have an extra incentive to stay abreast of the rumors/news about Favre’s fate and the Vikes in general.
Anyhoo, that’s my theory about the brontosaurus.
May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

Farve is the top off season story again this year and the Vikes are the only
team he is considering dancing with. That’s makes your blog the place to be. I don’t understand why you let posters get under your skin. Blog arguments cannot be won or lost as most are based upon differences of opinion. My advice is ride the wave and hope Farve doesn’t make the vikings crash and burn.
I, for one, starting reading it because I correctly assumed this was the best place to get insight into the situation. It still is the best place for info. I grew up in Iowa and was a vikings fan until moving to AZ in 93. I even have a Tarkenton jersey, I got out of mothballs the other day.
