Kirwan: Vikings Haven't Given Favre a Deadline
A source within the Vikings' organization told NFL.com's Pat Kirwan on Monday that the team hasn't given Favre a deadline to decide whether or not he will play again.

I do not ever remember a situation with so much misinformation and hearsay. I am quite sick of this.

I'm Giving Favre a Deadline
Art thou a mute wimp or not?
If I have to play Beelzebub in this luny melodrama, I’ll take the good lines myself. We can’t let Favre have all the good ones without even uttering a word. Why should a cheesy mime get the top billing?
Speak to us, O fabled Favre. Cat got thy tongue?
(Sure, I know this is deadline thing is just like the story that Ray Lewis gave to AD: Beef up man, and we’ll all be scared. The Chillster was able to see through that one right off. Probably some Chicago hack (half out of his mind with full-fledged football fear) hath launched this rumor of the deadly deadline.)
Someone needs to call out Favre out though. What fun is Favreggedon if you don’t use it?
Look at what Milton had Satan say in Paradise Lost:
Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heav’n.
But wherefore let we then our faithful friends,
Th’ associates and copartners of our loss
Lye thus astonisht on th’ oblivious Pool,
And call them not to share with us their part
In this unhappy Mansion, or once more
With rallied Arms to try what may be yet
Regaind in Heav’n, or what more lost in Hell?
Favre, if you want to be Satan, the role is a speaking part. Don’t leave us hanging, man. Quit putting everyone through hell and being so commitment-phobic.
Is that an arm I see before me? Be it thine?
It’s in the gull darn song, Brett: Are you ready for some football?

Every time there is a blurb on Favre and the Vikes, it gets regurgitated across the internet a thousand times. He probably isn’t saying anything for this very reason. And why should he say anything if he doesn’t know if his arm is going to heal right or not? This is the biggest story right now and every time he says something, it gets bigger. Which makes people (incorrectly) say he’s a glory whore who can’t stay out of the spotlight. It doesn’t need to get bigger, so don’t say anything unless you got something to say.
As much as I would like to open my presents and see who’s gonna be the Viking QB this year, it’s not time yet. If it helps, revel in the fact that Packer fans everywhere are stewing at the thought. But give him the time to do things right. When the arm is healthy, I’m sure he will be in there getting ready. Wouldn’t you if you were in his shoes?

Son a Bitch
Man this thing is Flipping and Flopping Like John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election. Smells to me like Favre Signs within 48 hours.

Why
Why doesnt the son-of-a-bitch come out and say SOMETHING. Frickin Joke this WHOLE thing is.
He’s probably sitting in his lazy-boy masturbating to all the coverage about him
What a waste of all our time.

Judd and Skip
Were saying that the Vikings haven’t been leaking anything to Mortensen and Werder at ESPN. The only ones who could have leaked that story were from Favre’s camp. And the possibility was strong of that getting ‘out’ to them was as a contract negotiation tactic.
This thing is went from irritating to downright insanity.

Man alive Frosty! We spoke of this BS info last month. These guys have nothing to do but listen to “I hear he said to someone that he might do this or they are saying that and another person said he heard it to.” Therefore some Yahoo from Yahoo (some self appointed expert) picks up and writes it as fact. Mortenson and the BSPN (good one by the way), not to be outdone, flashes it up as breaking news and they know all there is to know about it.
Brett, if your reading this, just sign or say your not interested. I know it’s no big deal to you, but us fans are going insane!

It’s pretty plain that he’s interested. All the facts point to it and none point against it. I’m sure he would like to know if his arm is going to heal up as well. But right now he doesn’t, obviously.
There is no doubt in my mind that both Favre and the Vikes want nothing more than to get this thing done. Provided he has a healthy arm.

Everyone just needs to chill out
Favre just had the surgery. RELAX. He just wants to see if his shoulder is good to go. He doesn’t want to be a liability to the team with a bum shoulder. Everyone just CHILL!!!!!! He obviously wants to be on our team, otherwise no way he has surgery. Can’t us fans take that as a HUGE sign of good faith? Let him have his rehab time, and then he needs to make a decision in 2-4 weeks.
By the way 2 months ago, Favre’s family booked 25-30 rooms at a hotel in GB, which just happens to be on the weekend that the Vikings play the Packers.

Was this booking reported
by the Yahoo Sports icons? Or was it Bill’s Weekly Football report from The Muncie Daily News?
Not mocking you dsludo. But, you are right. They said a 6-8 week recovery time so i seriously doubt that the Vikings or Favre would commit to anything right now. Not alone put a deadline on a player who just had the surgery. We all suckered into it again and when you think of it, such an ultimatum would make no sense.

Ultimatum: Surely The Only Way to Go
The ancient Vikings would have used multiple Norse curse words telling Favre to get onto the boat right now or we’re sailing without you. Pilaging was more fun in those bygone days. None of this silent treatment stuff by snooty stars and agents pussyfooting around like their client is on some James Bond mission.
Too bad Pawlenty is in office. I bet I could have talked Jesse into jumping off a turnbuckle wearing his feather boa and body slamming Favre into the canvas unless Brett signs right this instant.
Pro football should take a lesson from pro wrestling. When the action gets dull, try hitting someone with a folding chair.
Take your time Brett, you gilded wuss.

Sounds like pillaging has been replaced by grain alcohol.

WTF!!!!!!
What is this amateur hour!? Can’t these guys report anything without it being contradicted by another source within 24 hours!?

Wasn't doubting you dslundo
I am just getting doubtful about any reports. Some employee of the motel said the family booked? Just makes me wonder if someone is trying to drum up aa rumor.
We just blog on what we are told so I was not dissing your reporting.
Truth is, we really don’t know what the truth is from any of these reports.
