I thought it would be interesting to see how the fans really feel about who they would rather see lead the Vikings in a Super Bowl win. I have purposely left out the option “it doesn’t matter”, because I think we all would choose a Super Bowl win over our own feelings about a certain player. Please feel free to comment on your reasoning.

who would I rather???
somebody else. I’d rather see a new, young franchise QB lead us to the promised land so that there could be hopes of many more to come.
But if I had to choose one of the three guys to do it, I guess I’d pick T-Jax, simply because it would make a nice, “He’s way better than we all thought” story.

Only thing is, he’s playing for the winless Huskies… I know they have Steve Sarkesian (sp?) as their new HC, but that is gonna take some time to build up that program to anything resembling a football team.

That many votes for Favre? I know many people want Favre to be our QB this year, but this is a whole different ball game. I’m actually kind of surprised.

I too am very surprised.
I think most of the people who are voting for him are in the mindset that he will be our QB this year and therefore for this to be the year, it would have to be him.

right, your question is really out there. It assumes that ANY QB can take the Vikings to the SuperBowl and that they ALL have the same chance of taking the Vikings to the SuperBowl.

I get what you’re getting at. You don’t want to see Favre take the Vikes to the SuperBowl. But they don’t all have the same chance. And I’ll vote for any QB that can ACTUALLY take them all the way.

I will definitely be routing for Favre to take us to the Super Bowl. As I have always stated, signing Favre is only a good thing if we win the Super Bowl. Otherwise it is a bust.

“The Vikings have just won the Super Bowl!!” It doesn’t have to be this year, or even 5 years down the road (Although, I’d like to think we all want a championship sooner than then, haha) So, who do you wish is the QB at that given time?
If you don’t think any of the options can do it, then vote “Someone Else”. That’s what I did. :)

well I don’t think the vote takes into account whether they can do it or not. The premise is that they have won it, not if they will win it. So when you vote TJack, you’re not commenting on the potential to get there, just who you want to see do it.

So, I guess that since I obviously want the Vikes to win the Super Bowl I should have probably voted for one of the guys currently on the roster. Most people know I’m in the “Favre Hater” camp, so I guess I’d pick T-Jax.

Brett was (maybe still is) a great QB and loves the game – it would also make a great story… 1 Division, 2 teams, 2 Superbowl rings.

To answer your question
There has never been a QB “take” 2 different teams to a SB win, however there has been a few that were on 2 different winners as a backup on 1. Jim McMahon did this when he was Favre’s backup.
