YOU MUST BE GETTING TIRED OF BEING A VIKINGS FAN?!?!

What else are we gonna talk about? How dumb this post is, or how Sage is a 69, and T-Jack is a 67 on Madden 10?… Hmmmmm. When we put false hope into a QB situation, Madden is always there to rule out the ‘Madden Dick!’ Even the Video Game knows how bad Sage and T-Jack are! There’s nothing to be getting sick of… oh darn; a Suberbowl Winning, MVP, Hall of fame QB… Not that!

...add #4 to the mix and see what you get... Championship.

ALL-TIME LEADER at the position...

Did you see the video of his ‘practice’ in MS?
The guy is in shape… looking strong… damn.

We got a running game, we got a DEFENSE… we need a consistent, experienced QB.

The Vikings need Favre. Dismiss the ‘drama’ and let him play his game.

look man with brett we have the best chance. Tarvaris will still not make reads properly which will result in sacks or worse, rushed throws that turn to picks. sage is a better passer than t-jack frow what i have watched. but sage is untested. everyone knows he can probably play but all he proved last year was that he can blow a huge lead(i.e. the colts game) and go 2-3 with the number 4 offense in the league .so i dont know about those 2 but i do know that damn packer is our only shot. LIFE SUCKS

ok so tell me what do we do in a year or two when we all know he will retire again and he might be in shape and all im trying to say is that he wont fit the team long term

by C-Dubb on Jul 16, 2009 6:17 PM CDT reply actions

no your right he not a long time answer more like a band-aid look i would love tarvaris too lose his ego and just sit this year, really watch and not be bitter. favre isn’t going to take t-jack under his wing and show him but t-jack can a lot just watching favre play and watching how he manipulates defenses. t-jack i think can be our future but he needs to starting realizing that starting in this league is privelege not a right

Who Cares If He's Not Long Term

What we need is to bring this town a long awaited championship before they move our team to Los Angeles. Favre gives us the best chance to do that NOW

by Loki The Viking God on Jul 17, 2009 9:16 AM CDT up reply actions

No one is arguing that he is a long term solution.
This is our 1 (maybe 2) year opportunity to capitalize, build excitement, maybe win a damn ring…
Chilly has shown that he is no ‘QB-of-the-future’ finder with his TJackson pick…

We’ll find our QB for the long term eventually… look how many we’ve shed that have gone on to be pretty good. I’m not sure the draft is the answer either… we’ll need to lure away a strong backup from another team. or something.

the man should just retire, going on forty his arm is questionable even tough he looks good now put the pads on and lets see if he still has it yea you guys still need a quarterback but i would not go his way. Find a quarterback and make him into ur franchise man. If not you guys never havea chance of going anywhere

but u guys just seem to be going by it the wrong way, the man only out for revenge and he is just using the viking nation for his duty, use what u got and improve on that

I think you meant excited. We don’t want to be exited by Favre lol. We want to win!

never happen with him leading ur team

by Striker0418 on Jul 16, 2009 7:44 PM CDT up reply actions

Ah-ha. That’s where you’re getting a little side tracked. AD is clearly going to be leading this team. We’re just upgrading from a top 30 qb to a top 10 or so qb. The key is to stay healthy.

by dsludo on Jul 16, 2009 8:59 PM CDT up reply actions

WITH HIS STATS LAST YEAR

HE IS NOT RANKED IN THE TOP 10OR SO, HE IS GOING DOWN LIKE ALWAYS COUPLE OF HITS AND HE WILL START CRYING WOLF AGAIN ABOUT AN INJURY

by Striker0418 on Jul 16, 2009 9:38 PM CDT up reply actions

I appreciate the caps...however

Before his injury, which you mock, you was top 5, and #1 in completion percentage. And in 2007 we all know what happened. that 5 game stretch last year was the worst stretch of his career. If he plays as well as he did the 1st 11 games of last year, then AP will be running wild and not many teams will be able to beat us.

Seriously though what’s the deal with the caps? Is this subject that important to you? You’re a Dolphins fans, and in the AFC East. How does this even really affect you?

by dsludo on Jul 16, 2009 10:30 PM CDT up reply actions

Just Wow

You’re saying this about the ironman of QB’s? Sure he’s no Jim Marshall but he’s played with a broken thumb on his throwing hand and still did well. And you say he’s going to start crying after getting hit a couple times? That’s just idiotic and ignorant.

by C-Dubb on Jul 17, 2009 12:33 AM CDT reply actions

I think you need to

Either learn to deal with it, or turn off your computer. Becuase it’s the reality of the world, and it ain’t goin’ away if you close your eyes and click your heels three times and say “There’s not QB like Sage!”

Lots of people are tired of this topic (not just Viking fans), and with good reason. The media has worked this story for all it’s worth. But you control if you have to deal with it or not. If you’re tired of a topic, then, … I don’t know … maybe stop creating discussion threads about that topic on internet chat boards? Just an idea.

by puddnhead on Jul 17, 2009 8:02 AM CDT reply actions

because last time i checked anyone can write anything they want on here about the team

by C-Dubb on Jul 17, 2009 11:00 AM CDT up reply actions

He's just saying...

It’s ironic that you made a post complaining about the Brett Favre posts. By complaining and posting about the problem, you are perpetuating exactly what you claim to be trying to stop.

If you’re tired of it, don’t make a topic about it; that’s just the bottom line. Personally, I don’t give a crap. People are going to talk about Favre until the day he retires for good, which I’m convinced may happen by the summer of 2015.

Right.

No one is telling you that you can’t. It’s just ironic; do you see how people can perceive it that way? You’re making a post to complain about the amount of Favre talk, and it inherently brings up Brett Favre.

You can post about whatever you want; however, this post is just perpetuating the problem you’re trying to end.

I'm not being disrespectful.

I’m just sayin’.

There IS plenty to talk about; not much new, but there’s Harvin, Winfield’s contract, the re-tooled offensive line, the Williams Wall suspension, Chester Taylor and his role, Sidney Rice, the Wildcat, the stadium, the possible move to another city, the schedule, the other teams in the NFC North…

You get the idea. It’s just not as appealing to talk about with the Favre thing looming on the horizion.

Start a new thread

That’s a good idea. Start a thread about something else.

Then, let’s place wagers on how long it takes before it turns into Brett Favre talk.

I would do this, but I should really avoid starting threads on Friday nights (Ever since last Friday). It can get really ugly when one has a Blackberry at the bar…

At least the Vikings are getting some publcity

It’s refreshing having the first thing talked about on every sports show be about the Vikings instead of the F-ing Patriots

by Loki The Viking God on Jul 17, 2009 9:38 AM CDT reply actions

Personally, sick of it too!

For folks that live in Minne, or somewhere close where there may very well be a bevy of Vikings fans, it probably is cool to always have BSPN or whatever network start every frickin’ broadcast with a “Fav’ray to Vikings” story.

I’m living in LA. It sucks. Everyone jabs the Vikings & you get the constant “…ooooh, man…not this again…the Vikings suck anyway…blah, blah”. My friends who have listened to me curse Fav’ray for the past decade all laugh at me. “The devil is going to be your QB next year”. Alot of these guys are Raider fans. They run smack like inmates in a fed prison. It just blows. I become the brunt of the jokes for the next half-hour whenever the “Fav’ray Saga” is on the tube.

I even get it from Charger fans. How freakin’ gay is that? Chargers? And your running your mouth at me? Pussies.

I hate this crap. Can the season just start? I’m now ready to live with Bart as our QB, but the constant media blab is killing me. Once the season starts I can just shove a “hey, 5 and 0” or a , “hey, 9 and 0” in their face & shut them up. But for the time being…THIS JUST BLOWS!!!!

                                    Sincerely,

Raiders fans?

You will definitely get the final laugh if you’re benig made fun of by Raiders fans. I mean seriously you have a lot of ammo you could have a field day with the Raiders. And last I checked their potential starting QB is just about as old as a certain qb that may play for the Vikings.

by dsludo on Jul 17, 2009 1:13 PM CDT up reply actions

Have you forgotten Super Bowl XI?

If a Viking fan starts making fun of a Raider fan, then they’ll just throw Super Bowl XI in our face and they’ll get the final laugh.

by Loki The Viking God on Jul 17, 2009 2:05 PM CDT up reply actions

It's OK to hate all this

Just try to keep separate all the talk about it, from the thing itself. Even if you’re tired of the talk, this thing actually coming down should be a thing that you can be simultaneously happy about.

By the way, taking smack from RAIDERS fans. Wow. “Those that live in glass houses …”

by puddnhead on Jul 17, 2009 3:08 PM CDT up reply actions

Raiders

Yes…that Superbowl XI debacle …I hear it every now and then. The one I get more often though is the “how many rings you got?” BS. I hate to admit it….but its the truth. ZERO. Ugh. At least as a Vikings fan I can say that I’m true to my team & I dont EVER lose faith. I may bitch a lot, but I dont weasle out on my team. I basically grew up here, and back in the 70s you didnt see a lot of Charger or Niner fans. Now days, theyre everywhere. I have to contend with a lot of Cowboys fans too. They are, IMHO, the most smug. The worst BS I’ve received though was from a St.Louis Ram’s fan in a sports bar one Sunday, years ago. St.Louis Rams?? WTF.

heh. my brother is a Packer fan…
a convert after he moved to Miller-Waukee for work
(can’t blame him… all that beer, all that Packer wear… it’s like a brain-washing)

He’s having a hard time with this Favre drama… I think he’s choking on it, myself.

I’ve put up with my share of Vikings bashing – it’s like a religion in Packer land (and, sadly, in Viking land too often) but who cares? Like you said – we’ve never NEVER given up on ‘our’ team.
Through good and bad (too much bad) we keep cheering and taking our lumps.
‘Art’ imitating life, I guess.
