Favre on a plane to Minneapolis?
The rumors started flying again, and now they are getting pretty intense.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/08/18/report-favre-is-on-a-plane-to-minnesota/
The folks at WISN-TV in Milwaukee report that Brett and Deanna Favre have boarded in Hattiesburg a plane bearing a Vikings logo, within the past hour.
The plane reportedly is bound for Minneapolis.
Wow.
The administrative office at Hattiesburg Laurel Regional Airport report that Favre is on the plane.

"The latest Brett Favre summer saga apparently has come to an end. The 39-year-old reportedly informed the Vikings on Tuesday that he will not come out of retirement for a 19th season."
The greatest news I've heard all year!
http://wcco.com/vikings/brett.favre.minnesota.2.1133319.html
A high-level source with the Minnesota Vikings tells WCCO-TV’s Mark Rosen that quarterback Brett Favre is expected to sign with the team Tuesday.
Favre is on currently on his way to Minneapolis and is expected to sign with the team this afternoon, the source said.
WCCO-TV spoke with an official at the Hattiesburg, Miss., airport, who saw an airplane with the Vikings logo leave the airport Tuesday morning. The flight number for that plane has been blocked from tracking systems.
In late July, speculation that Favre would be joining the Vikings roster abruptly ended when head coach Brad Childress said the quarterback would remain in retirement.
On July 28, Childress said that he received a phone call from Favre and said that the quarterback would remain retired.
Now it appears that declaration was perhaps a bit premature.
I am angry, befuddled, and beside myself right now. Why is this all happening…"The latest Brett Favre summer saga apparently has come to an end. The 39-year-old reportedly informed the Vikings on Tuesday that he will not come out of retirement for a 19th season."

just to clarify
that last line is mine. I thought I put in some formatting to set it apart, but I guess it didn’t take.

This exchange from The Office basically sums up my feelings on Favre. Favre = Toby, Me = Michael Scott
Angela: Are you swallowing them whole? You’re eating them so fast, are they even touching your tongue?
Kevin: [with mouth full] Yes.
Dwight: Brownies is it? Hm. Pastry cubes made of sugar and fat? No thank you, I’ll stick with my jerkie.
Jim: So why did you come in here?
Dwight: To socialize. And inform.
Michael: Oh brownies! I’m taking two so I can parcel them up and eat them at my leisure later on, much healthier.
Ryan: You’re taking two?
Kelly: Yeah, um, but one of them is for Toby.
Michael: Yeah why don’t you send that to him in Costa Rica?
Kelly: Um, I’m just gonna hand it to him right now.
Michael: Heh, okay, weirdo.
Jim: Why is that, why is that weird?
Michael: She said she was going to give it to him right now. [starts laughing]
Jim: [laughing] She’s probably going to, cause they sit next to each other.
Michael: Yeah, they used to.
Jim: Toby works here again.
Michael: Oh, can you imagine?
Jim: Oh no.
Michael: Uhhgh.
Jim: You don’t know.
Michael: I don’t know. What?
Jim: You should probably just meander back there; take a look. See if he’s, see if he’s back.
Michael: Hmmm, dare I? [laughs] You know what? I’m going to, for old time’s sake. [walks to the annex, standing in Toby’s cubicle] Great practical joke Jim, you got me to go to the annex. [turns around and sees Toby]
Toby: Hi, Micha-
Michael: NOOOO! GOD! No, God, please no! No! No! NOOO!

+1
Anything “The Office” is always a + in my book. Even better to couple it with a Vikings blog.
I agree.....
new episodes can’t come soon enough!

Thank you Manimal. That helps with the pain.
Now allow me to go South Park. This was the first thing to pop into my head upon hearing the news.
Mr. Garrison = me, speaking to a student (Favre)
Mr. Garrison: No! You go to hell! You go to hell and you die!
In AP I trust
Just say no to Favre.

Just saw on ESPN
This yes, no, yes, no is getting on my nerves… Part of me wants him, cause gives us a great chance to win Superbowl… Other part of me really believes in being a team player, and him not going to camp, is not being a team player…
If he signs, Favre will have simply shown everyone who didn’t already know (which, unfortunately, seems to be a lot of people) that he is, and always will be, a self-centered, arrogant, me-first prick.

Which are practically prerequisites to being a successful modern NFL quarterback ...
See:
Fran Tarkenton
Steve McNair
John Elway
Dan Marino
etc etc etc
Are those exceptions or the rule?

I understand your point
but inclduing McNair in your list? I don’t think anybody would call him self-centered or arrogant.
"Call it the three B's. What a Blatant, Brazen and Brilliant ploy to skip training camp and still be given the reins to a Super Bowl-caliber team." - Kevin Seifert
Brett Favre proves he is a total piece of garbage.
Why not?
The guy turns up dead in a motel room, shot by his mistress, who then shot herself. Yeah, that happens to modest, honest, stand-up guys all the time.
Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
SKOL!
