Favre Will Practice Today, Play Friday

Waiting for your first taste of Brett Favre in purple? You won't need to wait long. The Star Tribune has confirmed that Favre will practice today, and sources tell the newspaper that he'll play in Friday's preseason game at the Dome.

That's pretty telling

I remember last year when the jets announced how many Favre jerseys had been ordered in the 24 hours following Favre’s signing, it was some all-tim record breaking number for the Jets. And even though Favre’s not a Jet anymore, the Jets still benefit from the boost of interest he helped create while there. It as if, now that they had envisioned greatness and thought it could really happen, even though it didn’t happen for them last year, they are still buoyed by the goal and the belief that it could happen.

Face it, the guy has some kind of star appeal whether you love ’im or hate ’im.
