So who gets the big ugly axe?

So here we are - in the midst of post apocalyptic Favreageddon.  Not everyone survives Favregeddon.  So who doesnt make it?

Sage: Just got traded for with a contract.  Looked crisp, sharp and in control during the first pre-season game.  He likely makes it as our go to back up if Favre reinjures the shoulder or just plain sucks.

Tarvaris: Last year of his rookie contract.  Has had plenty of time to prove himself but continues to look erratic.  Last game that counted he threw a game swinging pick.  Showed he couldnt win it in the second half.  Doesnt improve in the ensuing offseason, first pre-season game he looks lost, overthrows receivers and drops the ball, literally, on his first snap.  His mobility is both a blessing and a curse: with BF hes outnumbered 3 to 1 in pocket passers to mobile passers.

The Booty: Looked better than Tarvaris.  All the reports are that this kid just needs another year of watching and getting up to speed.  He's cheap with way more potential than Tarvaris.  His play style also falls in line with the rest of the lineup should TJ get cut - all pocket passers then.  As a pocket passer, he can continue to watch and learn from two Veteran PP in Sage and Brett.

While I appreciate the topic...

It’s pretty obvious you want Tarvaris to get cut.

for saying roughly the same thing I did, but just a bit faster.

The explanations for each QB are just a smidge biased. You’ll be hard pressed to convince anyone Booty is better than Jackson.

Regardless of this, I think Jackson is the odd-man out if they decide to cut somebody.

So other people are allowed to post topics that clearly bely their personal feelings but i’m not?

I’m not a regular writer. I dont feel the need to be objective.

If you feel differently. Vote and then explain why you feel differently. Its just an informal fanpost topic, not a college dissertation.

No one says it is...

But it’s just so blatently obvious. You could point to in-game statistics, or tendencies, not saying:

The Booty: Looked better than Tarvaris.

I agree

But you have also blatantly pointed out that you are a T. Jackson supporter, so it’s a wash.

You're saying I'm a Tarvaris supporter?

I’ve been saying he’s not the answer for a long, long time. He swayed me a bit with the final two games of the season last year, but I’ve been a Sage guy since we signed him. I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’m just trying to be objective and not throw my bias into analysis.

meh

IMO, there’s no way they are keeping 4 QB’s on the roster.

T-Jax has GOT to be out in my mind. Sage will be our solid veteran backup and Booty is our developmental third guy.

"Call it the three B's. What a Blatant, Brazen and Brilliant ploy to skip training camp and still be given the reins to a Super Bowl-caliber team." - Kevin Seifert

Brett Favre proves he is a total piece of garbage.

On a slightly related note, according to Judd Zuglad’s twitter, John David Booty has switched to #9.

Trade Bait

I’m thinking that we trade whoever has the highest value draft pick-wise, or at least overall value will be key. It could be quite likely that Sage ends up being the guy who leaves if we can get a 3rd or 4th round pick for him. It would make me nervous as I’m a Sage fan, but if Tarvaris is really Chilly’s guy then I’d be surprised if they traded him for a 6th or 7th rounder. We could trade Booty too, as his unknown quantity status would keep him at least worth a 5th rounder. In any event I’m sure all the logistics are worked out already as clearly this saga has been a behind the scenes one, and the media has played right into their hands. I say let Tarvaris go and let us both move on.

I don’t think we would get rid of Sage as he will most likely be our back-up…im not sure if any team would give anything for TJack…also I don’t think there’s much trade value for booty either

How about we make this decision based upon who performs the best in the remaining 3 preseason games rather than try to base the decision upon 1 game?

We still have not seen Booty nor Rosencopter run this offense against a real football team, so how can you make an educated decision as to who we should keep?

Sure, keep Booty because he came from USC. Whoop-De-Doo. The guy has not proven himself even to be a viable backup option. Let’s use our heads here.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
